Post‐mortem CT detection of fatal air embolism after aerosolized fibrin glue for bladder bleeding
Abstract Radiation‐induced hemorrhagic cystitis (RHC) is a severe complication of pelvic radiotherapy, often used to treat various pelvic malignancies. Despite multiple therapeutic options, including conservative and invasive interventions, the optimal management remains uncertain. We report the case of a 76‐year‐old male with pulmonary emphysema and a

Neuropathologic findings and age‐related differences in Finnish pediatric medico‐legal autopsies
Abstract Neuropathological examination plays a critical role in medico‐legal cause‐of‐death investigation, especially in determining the cause and manner of death in pediatric autopsies. Although a comprehensive neuropathological examination is recommended, limited data exists of the diagnostic yield of neuropathology consultations in such cases.

A catastrophic confluence: Concurrent subarachnoid haemorrhage and acute mesenteric ischaemia
Abstract Background Acute mesenteric ischaemia (AMI) and subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) are life‐threatening emergencies with diametrically opposed treatment requirements regarding anticoagulation. This report describes a rare, complex case where both conditions occurred simultaneously, creating a significant therapeutic dilemma. Case presentation A 64‐

Safer prehospital anaesthesia: updated guidelines from the Association of Anaesthetists
Summary Introduction Prehospital emergency anaesthesia is recognised as a high‐risk clinical intervention. These updated guidelines consider changes in prehospital practice and parallel changes in the practice of in‐hospital emergency anaesthesia, with the aim of encouraging standardised safe anaesthetic practice in a challenging clinical area.

Mediolateral episiotomy during vacuum‐assisted delivery in nulliparous women was associated with lower obstetric anal sphincter injury (1.4% vs 2.8%; adjusted odds ratio 0.42, 95% CI 0.25–0.70). The protective effect was greater when intrapartum risk factors were present, including prolonged second stage, occiput posterior position, and birthweight ...

Predictors of Brain Infarction in Pediatric Patients During Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation
In 179 pediatric ECMO patients, brain infarction (BI) occurred in 28% and was linked to markedly higher 30‐day mortality. VA ECMO mode (vs. VV) and higher pre‐ECMO arterial lactate independently predicted BI, supporting standardized neuro‐monitoring and liberal early brain CT, especially for children on VA ECMO.
