Formulation of hydrophobic peptides for skin delivery via coated microneedles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Microneedles (MNs) have been investigated as a minimally-invasive delivery technology for a range of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). Various formulations and methods for coating the surface of MNs with therapeutics have been proposed and ...

Induction of IL‐9‐producing CD8+ T cells by ascochlorin derivatives

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, Volume 183, Issue 11, Page 3015-3031, June 2026.
A newly synthesised ascochlorin derivative, N184, induces small amounts of IL‐9‐producing CD8+ T cells. N184 improved the survival of CD8+ T cells and enhanced their antitumour activity, partially in an IL‐9‐dependent manner. The antitumour effect was completely dependent on IFNγ secretion rather than the cytotoxic activity of CD8+ T cells.

Successful Application of Large Microneedle Patches by Human Volunteers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We describe, for the first time, the design, production and evaluation of large microneedle patches. Such systems, based on 16 individual microneedle arrays (needle height 600 μm), were prepared from aqueous blends of 15% w/w Gantrez(®) S97 and 7.5% w/w ...

TEAD1 Enhances Exosome Secretion and Promotes Exosome‐Mediated Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 25, 4 May 2026.
TEAD1 functions as a crucial molecular switch regulating exosome secretion in various cell types. TEAD1 enhances exosome secretion by upregulating key proteins associated with exosome secretion, including RAB11, CD9, and SNAP23. This study reveals a novel role for TEAD1 in regulating exosome secretion and tissue regeneration, particularly in diabetic ...

Extra-Pulmonary Tuberculosis Presenting as Established Non-Union Tibia Shaft Fracture [PDF]

open access: yesNational Journal of Laboratory Medicine, 2016
can present extraordinarily as a non-resoluting inflammatory pathology or can even mimic as malignancy especially sarcomatous or metastatic deposits. It sometimes can be diagnostically challenging for both the treating clinician and pathologist.

Effects of intradermal injection of atrial natriuretic peptide. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Atrial natriuretic peptide (ANP) causes mast cell degranulation in rats in vivo and in vitro but is bronchodilator in humans. The aim of this study was to investigate the wheal and flare dose-response to intradermal injection of alpha-human ANP in normal

Disc‐Toroid Hybrid Lipid Nanoparticles for Efficient Drug Encapsulation and Subcutaneous Delivery

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 26, 8 May 2026.
This study demonstrates sub‐50 nm solid‐lipid nanoparticles with long‐term stability, high drug loading, and strong tissue compatibility. Disc‐toroid morphology is confirmed and may play a role in cellular interactions, while low cytotoxicity and minimal systemic permeation confirm depot‐like behavior. These nanoparticles represent a versatile platform

Safety and immunogenicity of inactivated poliovirus vaccine when given with measles–rubella combined vaccine and yellow fever vaccine and when given via different administration routes: a phase 4, randomised, non-inferiority trial in The Gambia

open access: yesThe Lancet Global Health, 2016
Background: The introduction of the inactivated poliovirus vaccine (IPV) represents a crucial step in the polio eradication endgame. This trial examined the safety and immunogenicity of IPV given alongside the measles–rubella and yellow fever vaccines at

Allogeneic Stem Cells Alter Gene Expression and Improve Healing of Distal Limb Wounds in Horses. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Distal extremity wounds are a significant clinical problem in horses and humans and may benefit from mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy. This study evaluated the effects of direct wound treatment with allogeneic stem cells, in terms of gross, histologic,

Atypical metastatic osteosarcoma pattern in a dog: Lymphatic, neurovascular and subcutaneous metastasis

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 6‐year‐old, spayed, female labrador retriever was presented with left distal radial swelling. Imaging, cytology and biopsy identified an aggressive radial lesion with metastasis to the left axillary lymph node, and a diagnosis of presumptive osteosarcoma was made.
