Deep Understanding of Vaginal Microbiota in HPV‐Related Diseases From a Multi‐Omics Perspective

open access: yesVIEW Medicine, Volume 1, Issue 1, August 2026.
Current understanding of the vaginal microbiota and roles of critical vaginal bacteria, including Lactobacillus and anaerobic pathogens, in human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and HPV‐related diseases from a multi‐omics perspective. ABSTRACT There is a large number of microorganisms in the human body, which are inseparable from human health.

Cost‐effectiveness of risk‐stratified screening for cervical cancer in cohorts vaccinated against human papillomavirus with moderate vaccination coverage

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 2, Page 389-400, 15 July 2026.
What's new? Effective cervical cancer prevention centers around screening and testing for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. With birth cohorts of HPV‐vaccinated women now reaching screening‐eligible ages, however, the best means to maintaining cost‐effective cervical cancer screening is unclear.

Dynamics of the association between circulating levels of miRNA and pancreatic cancer risk through the years prior to pancreatic cancer diagnosis

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 2, Page 526-537, 15 July 2026.
What's new? Early diagnosis is critical for improving pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma prognosis, but few biomarkers currently exist. In a case–control study of 1,307 pancreatic cancer cases and matched pairs nested in prospective cohort studies, 13 miRNA–cancer associations were found to change during the blood‐draw‐to‐diagnosis time window.

Androgen Receptor‐Induced Lactoferrin Accelerates Prostate Tumorigenesis Through Modulating Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 37, 3 July 2026.
This study demonstrates that transcription factor androgen receptor (AR) directly binds the LF promoter, driving lactoferrin overexpression to promote ferritin (FTH1/FTL) upregulation and inhibit p53‐ALOX12‐mediated ferroptosis in prostate cancer. Lactoferrin could be a new potential therapeutic target in prostate cancer.

Cervical Metastasis From Primary Breast Carcinoma: A Case Report and Review of Extragenital Tumors Involving the Uterine Cervix

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Cervical metastases from breast carcinoma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of uterine lesions in patients with prior breast cancer. Re‐biopsy is essential to detect receptor discordance (ER/PR up to 29%) and guide therapy. GCDFP‐15, mammaglobin, and GATA3 confirm mammary origin.

Exfoliative cytology as a tool in the preinvasive anal lesions diagnosis

open access: yesMedisur
The anal cancer increase in high-risk populations stimulates the implementation of protocols to carry out early diagnosis, as well as the monitoring of high-grade anal intraepithelial neoplasia as a precursor lesion.

Acute Drug‐Induced Liver Injury After Four Doses of Nitrofurantoin, as Evaluated for Causality Using the Updated RUCAM, With a Disproportionate Rise in AST—A Novel Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Drug‐induced liver injury remains a severe but underdiscussed adverse effect of nitrofurantoin. This case uniquely describes hepatic injury occurring after four doses of nitrofurantoin, with a disproportionate rise in AST and rapid complete recovery following discontinuation of the drug. A RUCAM score of six supports the probability of DILI.
