Natural Toolbox–Chemical Engineering Aspect and High‐Value Applications of Janus Cellulose Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Tai Ji symbol from China represents the co‐existence of two opposite substances, similar to quantum entanglement. The term Janus comes from ancient Roman religion and mythology. Janus, the god of beginnings, transitions, etc., has two faces, symbolizing duality. Janus cellulose nanomaterials show structural duality.

Transient Interdomain Interactions Modulate the Monomeric Structural Ensemble and Self‐Assembly of Huntingtin Exon 1

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polyglutamine (polyQ) tract expansion (≥ 36 amino acids) within the N‐terminal region of the Huntingtin protein (Httex1) causes Huntington's disease (HD), for which the underlying causes are not well‐understood. The authors performed computer simulations to understand the cause of HD at the molecular level.

Flexible Regulation of Optical Properties Based on Structure Size‐Driven Intermolecular Interactions for Phototherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, ACQ@AIE bimolecular systems are developed by noncovalently combining an aggregated‐caused quenching (ACQ) molecule with three aggregated‐induced emission (AIE) molecules. Differentials in structural size drive different patterns of intermolecular interactions, leading to distinct and tunable optical properties.

Boosting Organic Long Persistent Luminescence by Enhancing Charge Separation Processes in Three‐Component Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Electron donor TMB is introduced into BF2bdk‐PhB system to enhance charge separation process. The resultant three‐component materials exhibit visible‐light‐excitable OLPL afterglow lasting for several hours under ambient environment, with OLPL efficiency of ≈10% and display OLPL brightness comparable to inorganic materials.

Structure and Antigenicity of Kaposi's Sarcoma‐Associated Herpesvirus Glycoprotein B

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Kaposi's sarcoma‐associated herpesvirus (KSHV) causes severe cancers without effective treatments. This study presents an atomic model of KSHV's critical infection protein, gB, revealing a unique structure shared with related herpesviruses like Epstein‐Barr virus (EBV). The structural similarity highlights vulnerable targets for antibodies, guiding the

Water‐Catalytic Deconstructive and Proton Transfer Cyclopropanation of Sulfoxonium Ylide with Olefin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Water‐catalytic deconstructive and proton transfer cyclopropanation of sulfoxonium ylide with olefin is developed through a sequential water‐mediated ring‐closing/opening reaction. This atom‐economical, environmentally friendly methodology offers easy access to a range of cyclopropyl ketones with moderate to good yields.

Precision Nanoconfined Self‐Assembly of ACQ Carbon Dots for Enhanced Solid‐State Fluorescence

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Star‐liked polymer unimolecular micelles are used as a general and robust nanoconfined scaffold template to fabricate structurally ultra‐stable and solid‐state fluorescence CDs assemblies via the conduction of ACQ‐to‐Solid state fluorescence transition process with ACQ CDs as the building units, which realized potential applications in detecting latent
