The Evolution and Dynamics of Intraspecific Predation
Annual Review of Ecology, Evolution, and Systematics, 1981Intraspecific predation, the process of both killing and eating an individual of the same species, is a significant and widespread process that until recently has not received the attention it merits. It is a major factor in the biology of many species and may influence population structure, life history, competition for mates and resources, and ...

A Survey of Intraspecific Predation among Reptiles and Amphibians
Journal of Herpetology, 1985Numerous investigations, citing occurrences of cannibalism and/or oophagy in over 100 species of reptiles and amphibians, were reviewed with particular emphasis on predator/prey characteristics, environmental determinants, and evolutionary significance.

Consequences of intraspecific predation: A stage structured population model approach
1991By differential equations with time delayed arguments, a predator-prey system is described where only older animals are predacious but hunt, besides a prey population, also juveniles of their own species. Increasing intraspecific predation first reduces the amplitudes of predator-prey oscillations; a further increase then causes damping.

A predator-prey model with satiation and intraspecific competition
Ecological Modelling, 1978Abstract We present a new predator-prey model where, except for the prey growth, assumed to be logistic, we endeavor to give some behavioral justification to all elements of the predator-prey interaction. The functional response takes account of predator satiation and predator competition. It is supported by some experimental evidence. We distinguish

Intraspecific Predation among Northwestern Crows
The Wilson Bulletin, 2004Abstract Cannibalism is uncommon in birds, and instances of adults killing and eating other adults are especially rare. Cases of intraspecific predation among passerines constitute a very small percentage of published reports, and many of the cases are based on circumstantial evidence.
