Real‐Time, Inline Quantitative MRI Enabled by Scanner‐Integrated Machine Learning: A Proof of Principle With NODDI

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 96, Issue 2, Page 986-995, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose The clinical feasibility and translation of many advanced quantitative MRI (qMRI) techniques are inhibited by their restriction to ‘research mode’, due to resource‐intensive, offline parameter estimation. This work aimed to achieve ‘clinical mode’ qMRI, by real‐time, inline parameter estimation with a trained neural network (NN) fully ...

Estimating the Sodium Content: A Case Series of Benign and Malignant Renal Tumours Using 23Na‐MRI at 3 T

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 8, August 2026.
23Na‐MRI at 3 T was applied to estimate TSC in patients with kidney tumours of different pathologies, which are indistinguishable on conventional imaging methods. The apparent TSC was significantly higher in renal oncocytomas (benign) compared to chromophobe renal cell carcinomas (malignant): 162 ± 58 mM vs. 71 ± 2 mM (p < 0.05).

Dynamic Contrast-Enhanced Ultrasound Modeling of an Analog to Pseudo-Diffusivity in Intravoxel Incoherent Motion Magnetic Resonance Imaging

open access: yes, 2022
Tumor perfusion and vascular properties are important determinants of cancer response to therapy and thus various approaches for imaging perfusion are being explored.

IDEAL-IQ combined with intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion-weighted imaging for quantitative diagnosis of osteoporosis

open access: yesBMC Medical Imaging
Background Osteoporosis (OP) is a common chronic metabolic bone disease characterized by decreased bone mineral content and microstructural damage, leading to increased fracture risk.

Enhancing pancreatic adenocarcinoma delineation in diffusion derived intravoxel incoherent motion f-maps through automatic vessel and duct segmentation

open access: yes, 2011
Diffusion-based intravoxel incoherent motion imaging has recently gained interest as a method to detect and characterize pancreatic lesions, especially as it could provide a radiation- and contrast agent-free alternative to existing diagnostic methods ...

Caveat of measuring perfusion indexes using intravoxel incoherent motion magnetic resonance imaging in the human brain

open access: yes, 2017
To numerically and experimentally investigate the robustness of intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) magnetic resonance imaging in measuring perfusion indexes in the human brain. ;Eighteen healthy volunteers were imaged on a 3 T clinical system.

intravoxel incoherent motion measurements in the human placenta using echo-planar imaging at 0.5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
This paper presents the first in vivo measurements of intravoxel incoherent motion in the human placenta, obtained using the pulsed gradient spin echo (PGSE) sequence. The aims of this study were two-fold.

Semi-automated quantitative intravoxel incoherent motion analysis and its implementation in breast diffusion-weighted imaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BackgroundTo optimize and validate intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) modeled diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) compared with the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) for semi-automated analysis of breast lesions using a multi-reader setup. Materials and

Intravoxel incoherent motion imaging for assessment of bone marrow infiltration of monoclonal plasma cell diseases

open access: yes, 2013
Modern imaging techniques have demonstrated that monoclonal plasma cell diseases infiltrate the bone marrow in a diffuse, focal, mixed pattern. While focal lesions can be easily counted and measured, the diffuse lesions of the infiltration are hard to ...
