Quasi Harmonic Lattice Dynamics and Molecular Dynamics calculations for the Lennard-Jones solids

open access: yes, 1998
We present Molecular Dynamics (MD), Quasi Harmonic Lattice Dynamics (QHLD) and Energy Minimization (EM) calculations for the crystal structure of Ne, Ar, Kr and Xe as a function of pressure and temperature.

Photoactivation of NV Centers in Diamond via Continuous Wave Laser Illumination of Shallow As‐Implanted Nitrogen

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates an alternative method of creating charge‐stable negatively charged nitrogen vacancy (NV−) centers close to the diamond surface without high‐temperature annealing. By illuminating nitrogen‐implanted regions with a continuous‐wave 405 nm laser, NV− centers are induced, exhibiting electron spin coherence properties suitable for ...

Dynamic Instability of Beams Under Tip Follower Forces Using Geometrically Exact, Fully Intrinsic Equations

open access: yesLatin American Journal of Solids and Structures
In this study, the dynamic instability of beams under tip follower forces are considered. The beam is modeled by using the geometrically exact, fully intrinsic beam equations which is subjected to an inclined tip follower force.

Ultradeep sequencing of a human ultraconserved region reveals somatic and constitutional genomic instability.

open access: yesPLoS Biology, 2010
Early detection of cancer-associated genomic instability is crucial, particularly in tumour types in which this instability represents the essential underlying mechanism of tumourigenesis.

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

Study of fluidelastic instability in the streamwise and transverse directions through tube array under two-phase flow conditions using pressure effects

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology
The fluidelastic instability (FEI) in heat exchanger tubes has been of widespread concern due to its tendency to cause damage to the tubes. Generally, FEI in the transverse direction of the tube occurs earlier than in the streamwise direction, and the ...

The Zakharov–Kuznetsov equation for weakly nonlinear dust-acoustic waves in a magnetized nonthermal plasma with opposite polarity dust [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Advances
The propagation properties and instability of dust-acoustic solitary waves (DASWs) are investigated in a dusty plasma consisting of inertial dust species of both positive and negative charge, non-inertial ions following Maxwellian distribution, and non ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.
