In the work reported herein, dipole‐engineered sulfonated carbon nanofibers enable conductive additives to actively regulate interphase formation in silicon anodes. Polar sulfonyl groups guide electrolyte decomposition to form a compact LiF‐rich interphase while promoting robust integration with silicon.

Entropy Generation Rate as a Marker for the Onset of Flame Instability
A comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms of intrinsic flame instability, including hydrodynamic and thermodiffusive instabilities, is becoming more important with the move towards greater reliance on hydrogen as a zero-carbon fuel. While intrinsic

Robust cytoplasmic partitioning by solving an intrinsic cytoskeletal instability
Abstract Early development across vertebrates and insects critically relies on robustly reorganizing the cytoplasm of fertilized eggs into individualized cells. This intricate process is orchestrated by large microtubule structures that traverse the embryo, partitioning the cytoplasm into physically distinct and ...

Tuning Separator Chemistry: Improving Zn Anode Compatibility via Functionalized Chitin Nanofibers
Nanochitin derived from waste shrimp shells is used to fabricate separators for aqueous zinc batteries. By tuning the density of amine and carboxylic surface groups, water mobility at the separator interface is controlled, promoting uniform zinc deposition, suppressing dendrite growth, and enabling exceptional cycling stability exceeding 2000 h ...

In this study, premixed ammonia‒hydrogen‒air mixtures at different pressures (50∼300 kPa), equivalence ratios (0.7∼1.5), and hydrogen concentrations (9∼50.00 %) were centrally ignited in a closed vessel, and the propagation of a spherical flame was ...

Glissile Interphase Boundaries Enable Collective Phase Switching in Epitaxial Polar Oxides
A triple point is identified in the phase diagram of low‐symmetry epitaxial BiFeO3 thin film along with an extended regime of phase competition associated with a flattened energy landscape. The electromechanical response is shown to be governed by correlated interphase‐boundary motion, including scale‐free avalanche dynamics characteristic of systems ...

Subtalar Joint Instability: Diagnosis and Conservative Treatment
Subtalar instability may be caused by various ligamentous injuries. Combined instability at the ankle and subtalar joint is not adequately diagnosed. Further, isolated subtalar instability is usually misdiagnosed which may lead to long term damage to the
