Gear Fault Diagnosis Based on Empirical Mode Decomposition and 1.5 Dimension Spectrum

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2016
Aiming at the nonlinear and nonstationary feature of mechanical fault vibration signal, a new fault diagnosis method, which is based on a combination of empirical mode decomposition (EMD) and 1.5 dimension spectrum, is proposed.

Empirical mode decomposition based on Fourier transform and band-pass filter

open access: yesInternational Journal of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering, 2019
A novel empirical mode decomposition strategy based on Fourier transform and band-pass filter techniques, contributing to efficient instantaneous vibration analyses, is developed in this study. Two key improvements are proposed.

Serum Myonectin Levels Are Positively Associated With Physical Function and Lower Frailty‐Related Limitation in Maintenance Hemodialysis Patients: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Maintenance hemodialysis (MHD) patients frequently suffer from frailty, characterized by reduced physical function and poor prognosis. Myokines, such as myonectin, secreted by muscle, are emerging regulators of systemic health. This study investigated the relationship between serum myonectin, adipokines (adiponectin, omentin), and ...

A Research on Maximum Symbolic Entropy from Intrinsic Mode Function and Its Application in Fault Diagnosis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) is a self-adaptive analysis method for nonlinear and nonstationary signals. It has been widely applied to machinery fault diagnosis and structural damage detection. A novel feature, maximum symbolic entropy of intrinsic

DAMAGE IDENTIFICATION IN A MULTILEVEL STRUCTURE USING EMPIRICAL MODE DECOMPOSITION [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2017
The use of the method of Empirical Mode Decomposition (EMD) is explored for the detection of changes in the structural response data of multi-level structure investigated experimentally. A three level structure is excited using a band limited white noise

THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE DEFAULT MODE RESTING STATE NEURAL NETWORK, RESPIRATORY SINUS ARRHYTHMIA, AND SELF-FOCUSED COGNITION: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Functional activity within the default mode resting state neural network (RSNN) and the resting respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) may represent an integrated neural and peripheral cardiovascular index of the baseline, resting state in humans.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Revised Stability Scales of the Postural Stability Index for Human Daily Activities

open access: yesEntropy, 2020
Evaluation of human postural stability is important to prevent falls. Recent studies have been carried out to develop postural stability evaluation in an attempt to fall prevention. The postural stability index (PSI) was proposed as a measure to evaluate
