An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

FAULT DIAGNOSIS OF ROLLING BEARING BASED ON LEARNING SAMPLE SELECTION VIA CORRELATION ENERGY FLUCTUATION EVALUATION AND DEEP BELIEF NEURAL NETWORK (MT)

open access: yesJixie qiangdu, 2023
The data-driven intelligent diagnosis of rolling bearing status suffers from low recognition rate due to the poor quality of learning samples in the process of identification model construction.

Intelligent fault diagnosis of rotating machinery based on deep learning with feature selection

open access: yesJournal of Low Frequency Noise, Vibration and Active Control, 2020
In the absence of a priori knowledge, manual feature selection is too blind to find the sensitive features which can effectively classify the different fault features.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Time delay estimation based on variational mode decomposition

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2017
In order to improve the time delay estimation of colored noise signals, this article proposes generalized cross-correlation time delay estimation based on variational mode decomposition.

From mode choice to modal diversion: A new behavioural paradigm and an application to the study of the demand for innovative transport services [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We analyse past research efforts that focus on modal diversion in the transport sector, as opposed to the classical mode choice concept, showing the added value of this alternative framework that emerges from the existing scientific literature. The modal

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Study on the orientation detection of surface cracks by electromagnetic acoustic emission

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2019
Crack orientation plays a vital role in structural integrity analysis, which provides quantitative crack growth and structural failure information. Even though many structural health monitoring systems can detect crack location and length, only few ...

Structural Dynamics and Allosteric Signaling in Ionotropic Glutamate Receptors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Ionotropic glutamate receptors (iGluRs) are ligand-gated ion channels that mediate excitatory neurotransmission events in the central nervous system. All distinct classes of iGluRs (AMPA, NMDA, Kainate) are composed of an N-terminal domain (NTD) and a ...
