We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Using an Optimization Algorithm to Detect Hidden Waveforms of Signals
Source signals often contain various hidden waveforms, which further provide precious information. Therefore, detecting and capturing these waveforms is very important.

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Bearing Fault Detection in DFIG-Based Wind Turbines Using the First Intrinsic Mode Function [PDF]
Wind energy conversion systems have become a focal point in the research of renewable energy sources. In order to make the DFIG-based wind turbines so competitive as the classical electric power stations it is important to reduce the operational and ...

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Application of the phase difference correct method in rolling bearing fault diagnosis
On the basis of empirical mode decomposition and teager energy operator, the new approach for rolling bearing fault diagnosis based on phase difference correction method is presented. It focuses on improving the identification precision of characteristic

Red socks and purple rain: the political uses of colour in late apartheid South Africa
This is a post-print of the published version of a SAGE Journal article available on: http://dx.doi.org/10.1177/1470357211398437.This article explores the extent to which colour functions as an independent mode in a particular context and explores the ...
