An Agrin–YAP/TAZ Rigidity Sensing Module Drives EGFR‐Addicted Lung Tumorigenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study identifies agrin‐EGFR mechanotransduction as a critical driver of lung adenocarcinoma which enhances EGFR signaling through an integrin‐FAK‐actomyosin dependent positive feedback on YAP/TAZ ‐TEAD in response to matrix stiffness. Targeting this oncogenic loop through combinatorial treatments inhibits lung cancer due to agrin impairment.

Spexin in the European sea bass, Dicentrarchus labrax: Characterization, brain distribution, and interaction with Gnrh and Gnih neurons

open access: yesJournal of Comparative Neurology, Volume 531, Issue 2, Page 314-335, February 2023., 2023
The main objective of this work was to obtain detailed information on the distribution and localization of the spexin (Spx) system in the sea bass brain. To this purpose, we first identified and characterized the spx1 gene and analyzed its expression in the central nervous system (CNS) of the European sea bass by using quantitative Real‐Time Polymerase

Novel Perspectives on Chloroplast tRNA Genomic and Structural Variations Imply the Evolution of Papilionoideae (Fabaceae)

open access: yesHorticulturae
Papilionoideae is the most species-rich subfamily of the third largest angiosperm family Fabaceae. One constituent large group, the inverted-repeat-lacking clade (IRLC), is well-known for the broad loss of one IR copy.

ZNHIT3 Regulates Translation to Ensure Cell Lineage Differentiation in Mouse Preimplantation Development

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Box C/D snoRNP complex regulates protein translation. This study identifies ZNHIT3 as a key component of the complex and ensures normal protein expression, including transcription factors orchestrating cell fate commitment, during early mouse embryogenesis.

Comparative Mitogenomics Analysis Revealed Evolutionary Divergence among Purpureocillium Species and Gene Arrangement and Intron Dynamics of Ophiocordycipitaceae

open access: yesMicroorganisms
The species of Purpureocillium are cosmopolitan and multitrophic fungi that can infect a wide range of invertebrate hosts. This study reports the mitogenome of P. atypicola, a specialized spider pathogenic fungus.

Information Analysis of DNA Sequences [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2010
The problem of differentiating the informational content of coding (exons) and non-coding (introns) regions of a DNA sequence is one of the central problems of genomics. The introns are estimated to be nearly 95% of the DNA and since they do not seem to participate in the process of transcription of amino-acids, they have been termed "junk DNA ...

Assessment and Mitigation of CRISPR‐Cas9‐Induced Nontargeted Translocations

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Various inverted repeat elements are dispersed throughout genomes. This study reveals that these elements can cause significant chromosomal rearrangements when CRISPR editing occurs in their proximity. The risk can be mitigated by incorporating inverted repeat‐homologous segments into the CRISPR system, which represents a promising strategy for ...

Gene autoregulation via intronic microRNAs and its functions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Background: MicroRNAs, post-transcriptional repressors of gene expression, play a pivotal role in gene regulatory networks. They are involved in core cellular processes and their dysregulation is associated to a broad range of human diseases. This paper focus on a minimal microRNA-mediated regulatory circuit, in which a protein-coding gene (host gene ...
