PERSPECTIVES AND LIMITS OF MANDIBULAR LATERAL INCISOR INTRUSION ASSOCIATED WITH PERIODONTAL DISEASE. A FEM STUDY

open access: yesRomanian Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 2019
Introduction. FEM is a reliable tool for researching the impact of orthodontic therapy on the affected periodontal tissues. Material and methods. Using Catia V5R16 and Abaqus software we analysed various clinical scenarios for intruding the lateral ...

Neural processing of audiovisual and painful analogue trauma and its relationship with subsequent audiovisual and pain intrusions

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Psychotraumatology
Background: Posttraumatic stress disorder and medically unexplained pain frequently co-occur. While pain is common during traumatic events, the processing of pain during trauma and its relation to audiovisual and pain intrusions is poorly understood ...

Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

Comparison of Intrusive Effects and Amount of Root Resorption in Maxillary Incisors Using Two Conventional Intrusion Arches and Mini-Implants

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacy and Bioallied Sciences
Aim and Objective: This study aimed to compare the amount of maxillary incisor intrusion and root resorption using three methods: mini-implants, utility arches, and Connecticut intrusion arches.

Systematic profiling of cancer‐fibroblast interactions reveals drug combinations in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Fibroblasts, cells in the tumor environment, support ovarian cancer cell growth and alter morphology and drug response. We used fibroblast and cancer cell co‐culture models to test 528 drugs and discovered new drugs for combination treatment. We showed that adding Vorinostat or Birinapant to standard chemotherapy may improve drug response, suggesting ...

Dose‐dependent induction of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in 3D melanoma models by non‐thermal plasma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Loss of primary cilia promotes EphA2‐mediated endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in the ovarian tumor microenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of primary cilia in endothelial cells promotes EndMT and vascular abnormalities in the ovarian tumor microenvironment through EphA2 activation. Using human samples, in vitro models, and endothelial‐specific Kif3a‐knockout mice, we show that primary cilia loss drives the acquisition of cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like phenotypes, thereby ...
