The paper offers a concise and focused view at intuitionistic fuzzy sets cast in the framework of various formalisms used to model uncertainty. In a nutshell, intuitionistic sets are useful in capturing concepts where a degree of membership of a certain point, \(A(x)\), taken along with a degree of non-membership, \(A^\sim(x)\), satisfy the ...

Axiomatic theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2000The first attempt for an axiomatization of the theory of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) [see \textit{K. Atanassov}, ibid. 20, 87--96 (1986; Zbl 0631.03040)] is made. The axioms are related to the IFSs, to the relations over them, and to the modal-type operators (\(\square\) and \(\lozenge\)) defined over them.

An interpretation of intuitionistic fuzzy sets in terms of evidence theory: Decision making aspect
Knowledge-Based Systems, 2010This paper presents a new interpretation of intuitionistic fuzzy sets in the framework of the Dempster-Shafer theory of evidence (DST). This interpretation makes it possible to represent all mathematical operations on intuitionistic fuzzy values as the operations on belief intervals.

Intuitionistic fuzzy logic and intuitionistic fuzzy set theory
Journal of Symbolic Logic, 1984In 1965 Zadeh introduced the concept of fuzzy sets. The characteristic of fuzzy sets is that the range of truth value of the membership relation is the closed interval [0, 1] of real numbers. The logical operations ⊃, ∼ on [0, 1] which are used for Zadeh's fuzzy sets seem to be Łukasiewciz's logic, where p ⊃ q = min(1, 1 − p + q), ∼ p = 1 − p. L.

Terminological difficulties in fuzzy set theory—The case of “Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets”
Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2005This discussion paper, authored by a panel of experts in fuzzy sets, brings an issue of terminology of intuitionistic fuzzy sets and its relevance vis-à-vis the concept of intuitionistic logic encountered in the literature. Intuitionistic fuzzy sets, as introduced by Atanassov in 1983, are described by a pair of membership functions \((A+, A-)\) where \

Theory for intuitionistic fuzzy rough sets of two universes
2011 International Conference on Machine Learning and Cybernetics, 2011The combination of the rough sets theory with in-tuitionistic fuzzy sets is a novel theory and a flourish research community in dealing with uncertaintydecision or incomplete and imprecise information. This paper studies the primary theory of intuitionistic fuzzy rough sets over two universes.

Intuitionistic fuzzy parameterized fuzzy soft set theory and its application
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2018This paper presents the opinion of intuitionistic fuzzy parameterized fuzzy soft set (IFP-FS set) by considering the images of approximate function in the fuzzy subsets of the set of universe of discourse rather than to a crisp subset. Some of the desired operations and relations of IFP-FS set are also considered in this study.

Intuitionistic fuzzy soft set theory and its decision making
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2013In this work, we first defined the intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets (IFS-sets) and their operations. By using them, we then give some results and construct a decision making method. Finally, we give an application which shows that this approach is useful to handle several realistic uncertain problems.

In this paper, a similarity measure between intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets based on Hausdorff distance is defined and a possible application of this measure in medical diagnosis is presented. Also, Hamming and Euclidean distances are defined for interval-valued fuzzy soft and interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy soft sets.
