Biocatalytic properties of immobilized inulinase
Russian Journal of Bioorganic Chemistry, 2016A heterogeneous biocatalyst based on inulinase immobilized on a nonionic sorbent of Stirosorb series was proposed. Thermal and acid inactivation of free and immobilized inulinase was examined and the corresponding inactivation constants were calculated.

Inulinase from Chrysosporium pannorum
Journal of Fermentation Technology, 1988Abstract A mold, Chrysosporium pannorum AHU 9700, isolated from soil, was found to produce a very active inulin-hydrolyzing enzyme. The inulinase activity of this strain was induced by inulin, but not by sucrose, glucose, or fructose. The highest inulinase activity, 115 units/ml, was obtained under the optimum conditions.

A glycoside hydrolase family 32 exo-inulinase gene was cloned from Sphingomonas sp. JB13 and expressed in Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). The purified recombinant enzyme (rInuAJB13) showed an apparently optimal activity at pH 5.5 and 55 °C and remained activity at 10-70 °C.

Biotechnological potential of microbial inulinases: Recent perspective
Critical Reviews in Food Science and Nutrition, 2016Among microbial enzymes, inulinases or fructo-furanosylhydrolases have received considerable attention in the past decade, and as a result, a variety of applications based on enzymatic hydrolysis of inulin have been documented. Inulinases are employed for generation of fructose and inulo-oligosaccharides (IOS) in a single-step reaction with specificity.

The cell wall-associated inulinase of Kluyveromyces fragilis
Antonie van Leeuwenhoek, 1984The yeast Kluyveromyces fragilis (ATCC 12424) was grown on a 2% inulin-1% yeast extract medium for 36 h and subsequently fixed with 0.5% glutaraldehyde. The glutaraldehyde treatment did not affect the beta-fructofuranosidase (inulinase, EC 3.2.1.7) activity of the cells but it did make the cells resistant to chemical and physical treatments that ...

Screening for microorganisms that produce only endo-inulinase
Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology, 2001Sixteen fungal strains reported in the literature as endo-inulinase producers and three bacterial strains, isolated from the dahlia rhizosphere, were analysed for endo-inulinase production. From four isolated strains (one fungus and three bacteria) the results were evaluated in terms of substrate consumption, cell growth and production of endo ...

We have developed a technique for the immobilization of inulinase on chitosans with different molecular weights. The acid-soluble mid-molecular-weight (200 kDa) and high-molecular-weight (350 kDa) chitosans are shown to be promising matrices for inulinase adsorption.

Molecular characterization and expression of microbial inulinase genes
Critical Reviews in Microbiology, 2012Many genes encoding exo- and endo-inulinases from bacteria, yeasts and filamentous fungi have been cloned and characterized. All the inulinases have several conserved motifs, such as WMND(E)PNGL, RDP, EC(V)P, SVEVF, Q and FS(T), which play an important role in inulinase catalysis and substrate binding. However, the exo-inulinases produced by yeasts has

Microbial Inulinases: Fermentation Process, Properties, and Applications
1983Publisher Summary The microbial enzyme, inulinase, hydrolyzes the plant polymer inulin into practically pure fructose. Several methods have been applied to prepare stable crude Kluyveromyces fragilis inulinase preparations: acetone drying of cells, P 2 O 5 , drying, and cell autolysis yielded preparations which were stable at 0°C for at least one ...
