p-Frame Multiresolution Analysis Related to the Walsh Functions

open access: yesInternational Journal of Analysis and Applications, 2015
A generalization of the notion of p-multiresoltion analysis on a half-line, based on the theory of shift-invariant spaces is considered. In contrast to the standard setting, the associated subspace V0 of L2 (R+) has a frame, a collection of translates of

LOTKA-VOLTERRA CUBICDIFFERENTIAL SYSTEMS WITH (1:-2)- SINGULARITY AND INVARIANT AFFINE STRAIGHT LINES OF TWO DIRECTIONS OF TOTAL ALGEBRAIC MULTIPLICITY SIX

open access: yesActa et Commentationes: Ştiinţe Exacte şi ale Naturii, 2019
The Lotka-Volterra cubicdifferential systems with (1:-2)-singularity possessing invariant straight lines of two direction and total multiplicity six are classified.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Polynomial Bounds for Invariant Functions Separating Orbits [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Consider the representations of an algebraic group G. In general, polynomial invariant functions may fail to separate orbits. The invariant subring may not be finitely generated, or the number and complexity of the generators may grow rapidly with the ...

Design of Robust Broadband Frequency-Invariant Broadside Beampatterns for the Differential Loudspeaker Array

open access: yesApplied Sciences
The directional loudspeaker array has various applications due to its capability to direct sound generation towards the target listener and reduce noise pollution.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Henon-like maps with arbitrary stationary combinatorics

open access: yes, 2010
We extend the renormalisation operator introduced in \cite{dCML} from period-doubling H\'enon-like maps to H\'enon-like maps with arbitrary stationary combinatorics.

A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Quantum graph as a quantum spectral filter

open access: yes, 2013
We study the transmission of a quantum particle along a straight input--output line to which a graph $\Gamma$ is attached at a point. In the point of contact we impose a singularity represented by a certain properly chosen scale-invariant coupling with a
