Invariant means on locally compact semigroups [PDF]
Let G be a locally compact semigroup (jointly continuous semigroup operation), M(G) the algebra of all bounded regular Borel measures on G (with convolution as multiplication), E a separated locally convex space and S a compact convex subset of E. We show that there is a left invariant mean on the space LUC(G) of all bounded left uniformly continuous ...

Generalized Invariant Preferences: Two-parameter Representations of Preferences [PDF]
In this paper, we generalize the model of Quiggin and Chambers (2004) to allow for ambiguity, and derive conditions, referred to as generalized invariance, under which a two argument representation of preferences may be obtained independent of the ...

Translation invariant state and its mean entropy-I
Let $\IM =\otimes_{n \in \IZ}\!M^{(n)}(\IC)$ be the two sided infinite tensor product $C^*$-algebra of $d$ dimensional matrices $\!M^{(n)}(\IC)=\!M_d(\IC)$ over the field of complex numbers $\IC$ and $\omega$ be a translation invariant state of $\IM$. In

Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

An Invariant Volume-Mean-Value Property
If \(f\) is \({\mathcal M}\)-harmonic in the unit ball \(B_ n\) of \(\mathbb{C}^ n\) [cf. the last author, ``Function theory of the unit ball of \(\mathbb{C}^ n\)'', Springer Verlag, New York - Berlin (1980; Zbl 0495.32001), p. 49] and \(f\in L^ 1(B_ n)\), then \(f\) has the volume-mean-value property, i.e.

Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...
