Glucuronolactone Promotes Mucin Sulfation to Alleviate Deoxynivalenol‐Induced Intestinal Injury via Microbiota‐Dependent and ‐Independent AHR Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glucuronolactone (GLU) as a natural metabolite of glucose, increases Lactobacillus amylovorus abundance and luminal IAA level to activate AHR signaling. In addition, GLU itself can directly elevate AHR signaling activity independently of microbiota and IAA.

Extraction and purification of total flavonoids from Zanthoxylum planispinum Var. Dintanensis leaves and effect of altitude on total flavonoids content

open access: yesScientific Reports
To investigate the impact of varying altitudes on the functional components of the leaves of Zanthoxylum planispinum var. Dintanensis, this research collected leaf samples from three different elevations: 610 m, 833 m, and 1083 m.

GHRHR Deficiency Enhances Retinal Ganglion Cell Survival and Visual Functions in Experimental Glaucoma by Inhibiting Ferroptosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glaucoma, a major cause of blindness, involves retinal ganglion cell (RGC) degeneration. This study shows growth hormone‐releasing hormone receptor (GHRHR) deficiency preserves RGC survival and restores vision, unlike activation which only aids survival.

Comparative Transcriptomic Analysis of Male and Female Gonads in the Zig-Zag Eel (Mastacembelus armatus)

open access: yesFishes
The zig-zag eel (Mastacembelus armatus) is a unique economic fish species in China and exhibits significant dimorphism of male and female phenotypes. Cultivating all-male seedlings can significantly improve production efficiency.

Seed density and priority effects outweigh limiting similarity and diversity in contributing biotic resistance to invasion [PDF]

open access: yesNeoBiota
Despite numerous ecological theories proposed to explain plant invasion dynamics, few studies have evaluated multiple mechanisms simultaneously within a single experimental framework.

Invasive alien species in Serbia

open access: yes, 2022
This paper presents 60 selected invasive alien plant species in the flora of Serbia. In addition to explaining what invasive species are and what is their negative impact on biodiversity, ecosystems, ecosystem services and human health, for each of the 60 species are given family names, most commonly used synonyms (acording to Euro +Med Plant-Base ...

FomA‐Containing Outer Membrane Vesicles of Fusobacterium Nucleatum Facilitate Bladder Cancer Lymphatic Metastasis via IL‐6‐Dependent M2b Macrophage Polarization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Urinary Fusobacterium nucleatum–derived outer membrane vesicles are shown to promote bladder cancer lymphatic metastasis. The vesicle protein FomA activates TLR2/NF‐κB signaling in tumor cells, induces IL‐6 secretion, and drives M2b macrophage polarization and VEGF‐C–dependent lymphangiogenesis, revealing a microbiota‐driven mechanism linking tumor ...

Multi-Condition Cultivation Reveals the Host Plant-Dependent Gut Bacteria Diversity in Tomato Leafminer (Tuta absoluta) Larvae

open access: yesInsects
Tomato leafminer (Tuta absoluta) significantly affects tomato (Solanum lycopersicum) and eggplant (Solanum melongena) crops worldwide, with its feeding patterns being closely associated with its gut microbiota.
