Inventory Modeling and Inventory Control Application
2020In this chapter, the basic motivation of inventory modeling will be discussed. Briefly description of the developmental history of dynamic inventory models will be given. Different inventory control strategies will be reviewed. Modern inventory control method via dynamical system approach will be illustrated.

The measurement selection of inventory control
Proceedings of the 2010 American Control Conference, 2010This work addresses how input-output pairing is related to stability of inventory control systems. Input-output pairing divides the process dynamics into a measured subset and an unmeasured subset. The unmeasured dynamics are called the zero dynamics. We demonstrate that if the input-output pairing is chosen so that the zero dynamics are stable, then ...

Managing the inventory control system
American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, 1985The four functions of management--planning, organizing, directing, and controlling--are described in relation to the hospital pharmacy inventory control system. Planning includes the development of inventory system objectives and identification of the resources needed to complete them.

Production Smoothing and Inventory Control
Operations Research, 1961Let production of a product be continuous and subject to the following costs the direct cost of production is proportional to the rate of output, the cost of changing the rate is proportional to the size of the change, with (possibly) different coefficients for upward and downward shifts, the cost of storage is proportional to the stock level, and ...

Back Ordering in Inventory Control
Journal of the Operational Research Society, 1970An approach to determining the empirical relationship between time out of stock and back ordering is outlined. Using this relationship the expected lost sales in a reorder level system of inventory control are derived for continuous and block demand depletion, fixed and variable lead times.

Expert systems for inventory control
Decision Support Systems, 1990Abstract The success and impact of current DSS remain rather limited within organizations. These limitations can be offset by integrating artificial intelligence into DSS. This paper presents briefly the possibility of combining DSS with expert system technology for management of inventories.
