Classification and Prediction of Topological Insulators by Using the Density of States

open access: yesMathematics
In order to characterize topological insulators it is customary to use representations of the electronic structure, such as the band structure, where the energy of electrons is represented as a function of their momenta.

Some Remarks on Invertible Refined Neutrosophic Square Matrices [PDF]

open access: yesNeutrosophic Sets and Systems
The main goal of this article is to define the adjoint of refined (resp., n-refined) neutrosophic square matrices, and to study the inverse of these matrices in terms of refined (resp., n-refined) neutrosophic determinants and adjoints. Also, it presents

Analytic determinants and inverses of Toeplitz and Hankel tridiagonal matrices with perturbed columns

open access: yesSpecial Matrices, 2020
In this paper, our main attention is paid to calculate the determinants and inverses of two types Toeplitz and Hankel tridiagonal matrices with perturbed columns.

Cytoplasmic p21 promotes stemness of colon cancer cells via activation of the NFκB pathway

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytoplasmic p21 promotes colorectal cancer stem cell (CSC) features by destabilizing the NFκB–IκB complex, activating NFκB signaling, and upregulating BCL‐xL and COX2. In contrast to nuclear p21, cytoplasmic p21 enhances spheroid formation and stemness transcription factor CD133.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Religion and Crime Studies: Assessing What Has Been Learned

open access: yesReligions, 2018
This paper provides a review of the literature that assesses the relationship between religion and crime. Research on the relationship between religion and crime indicates that certain aspects of religion reduces participation in criminal activity.

Uniqueness and Stability in Inverse Spectral Problems for Collapsing Manifolds [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We consider a geometric inverse problems associated with interior measurements: Assume that on a closed Riemannian manifold $(M, h)$ we can make measurements of the point values of the heat kernel on some open subset $U \subset M$. Can these measurements

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Restrained captive domination number

open access: yesOpen Engineering
The restrained captive domination number (RCDN), denoted by γRca(G),{\gamma }_{{\rm{Rca}}}(G), is a new definition of domination number in graphs introduced in this article.
