Method to Interpret Injection Profile of Water Injection Well Based on DTS

open access: yesCejing jishu
A method for interpreting the water injection profile based on Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) is proposed to address the technical challenges of diagnosing the water injection volume of each injection layer of water injection wells.

Variational Model Inversion Attacks

open access: yesCoRR, 2022
Given the ubiquity of deep neural networks, it is important that these models do not reveal information about sensitive data that they have been trained on. In model inversion attacks, a malicious user attempts to recover the private dataset used to train a supervised neural network.

Improving the inversion accuracy of shallow shear wave velocity structure based on microtremor method: A case study of Haikou Jiangdong New District

open access: yesDizhi lixue xuebao
Objective  The microtremor survey method is not limited by the spatiotemporal distribution of seismic sources and has become an effective method for observing the structure of shallow shear wave velocity.

Suitability Evaluation of Typical Drought Index in Soil Moisture Retrieval and Monitoring Based on Optical Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
As a basic agricultural parameter in the formation, transformation, and consumption of surface water resources, soil moisture has a very important influence on the vegetation growth, agricultural production, and healthy operation of regional ecosystems ...

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Correlation, Independance and Inverse Modeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Learning from examples has a wide number of forms depending on what is to be learned from which available information. One of these form is y = f( x ) where the input-output pair ( x , y ) is the available information and frepresents the process mapping ${\bf x}\in\cal X$ to ${\bf y}\in\cal Y$.

Estimating models of inverse systems

open access: yes52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013
This paper considers the problem of how to estimate a model of the inverse of a system. The use of inverse systems can be found in many applications, such as feedforward control and power amplifier predistortion. The inverse model is here estimated with the purpose of using it in cascade with the system itself, as an inverter.

MATHEMATICAL MODELS FOR CHROMOSOMAL INVERSIONS [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics, 1967
INCE a formal characterization of the nature of inversions has not been made to date, this paper will hypothesize mathematical models for the occurrence of inversions of various lengths, obtain the associated probability distributions of lengths and midpoints of chromosomal inversions, and compare the hypothesized models with two sets of data.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.
