Comprehensive study on space-vector-PWM and carrier-based-PWM correlation in multilevel invertors

open access: yes, 2006
The paper presents a theoretical analysis of the correlation between carrier-based unipolar PWM (CPWM) and space-vector PWM (SVPWM) For the entire modulation-index range of multilevel invertors, including overmodulation.

Optimal configuration of battery energy storage systems using for rooftop residential photovoltaic to improve voltage profile of distributed network

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Due to the power mismatches between residential load and rooftop residential photovoltaic (PV) generation, voltage profile of low-voltage distribution system (LVDN) may exceed the allowable limit during the daytime and is well below the lower limit at ...

Multi-physics design optimisation of a GaN-based integrated modular motor drive system

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Here, a multi-physics approach is presented for the design optimisation of an integrated modular motor drive (IMMD). The system is composed of a modular permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) and a GaN-based modular motor drive power stage.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Calculation method of critical voltage drop of DC commutation process considering AC system three-phase fault moments

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
This study makes a detailed analysis about the influence of AC system fault moments on commutation process of inverter valves and commutation failures. Taking into account the time-varying characteristic of the commutation voltage effective value after a
