Active power decoupling and controlling for single-phase FACTS device

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Single-phase FACTS device has a bulky and short-life electrolytic capacitor to absorb the ripple pulsating at twice of the line frequency in DC side, resulting in lower power density. This paper introduced a structure of three-phase bridge which added an

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Maximum power point tracking scheme with partial shading detection for two-stage grid-connected photovoltaic inverters

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
This paper proposes a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method with partial shading (PS) detection based on modified PI incremental conductance (IC) for photovoltaic inverters.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Reconfigurable and flexible voltage control strategy using smart PV inverters with integrated energy storage for advanced distribution systems

open access: yesIET Smart Grid, 2019
A novel circuit topology is proposed for utility-owned photovoltaic (PV) inverters with integrated battery energy storage system (BESS) and compared to two state-of-the-art configurations.

Nonreciprocal negative-impedance invertor

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1967
Two nullator-norator equivalent representations of the non-reciprocal negative-impedance invertor (z11 = z22 = 0, z12 ≠ z21, and z12/z21>0) are described, with several transistorised-circuit realisations of these devices.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Distributed voltage and frequency synchronisation control scheme for islanded inverter-based microgrid

open access: yesIET Smart Grid, 2018
This study presents a fully distributed control paradigm for secondary control of islanded AC microgrid (MG). The proposed method addresses both voltage and frequency restoration for inverter-based distributed generators (DGs).

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

E2A selectively regulates TGF‐β–induced apoptosis in KRAS‐mutant non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ability to induce apoptosis by TGF‐β is frequently lost in advanced lung adenocarcinoma despite intact TGF‐β signaling. We identify E2A as a mutant KRAS–dependent mediator of resistance to TGF‐β–induced apoptosis. TGF‐β induces E2A via SMAD3 in mutant KRAS cells, and E2A silencing restores apoptosis and enhances radiation response in cell lines ...
