Internuclear chromosome bridges in thyrocytes of papillary thyroid cancer in patients, subjected to radioactive iodine isotopes during first months after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant [PDF]
Background. Fallout from Chernobyl accident was primarily to iodine radioisotopes, with Iodine-131 (I-131) being the most predominant. Radioiodines accumulated following the accident could induce pathologic changes in thyrocytes.

Deriving Iodine-free spectra for high-resolution echelle spectrographs [PDF]
We describe a new method to derive clean, iodine-free spectra directly from observations acquired using high-resolution echelle spectrographs equipped with iodine cells. The main motivation to obtain iodine-free spectra is to use portions of the spectrum that are superimposed with the dense forest of iodine absorption lines, in order to retrieve lines ...

Current concepts of 131I therapy in oncology: Indications, methods and follow up [PDF]
Radioiodine in various forms (as sodium iodide and as the iodinated compounds MIBG, LIPIODOL, et al.) has been used as a therapeutic agent in oncology. Differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) has been successfully treated by 131I therapy.

Molecular imaging of HER2 receptor: Targeting HER2 for imaging and therapy in nuclear medicine
Targeting HER 2 for imaging and therapy in nuclear medicine has been used with a special emphasis on developing more powerful radiopharmaceuticals. Zirconium-89 plays an essential role in immune PET imaging so was used labeled with anti-HER2 antibody ...

Thyroid cell irradiation by radioiodines: a new Monte Carlo electron track-structure code
The most significant impact of the Chernobyl accident is the increased incidence of thyroid cancer among children who were exposed to short-lived radioiodines and 131-iodine.

Highly water‐soluble Npy‐sulfenate functions as an efficient oxidizing agent for the formation of disulfide bonds in thiol‐containing peptides. The Npy‐sulfenate can be used to form a disulfide bond with a thiol‐containing peptide produced by thiol‐additive‐free NCL, thereby facilitating the one‐pot synthesis of adrenomedullin.

Superconducting High Pressure Phases Composed of Hydrogen and Iodine [PDF]
Evolutionary structure searches predict three new phases of iodine polyhydrides stable under pressure. Insulating P1-H5I, consisting of zigzag chains of HI (delta+)and H2(delta-) molecules, is stable between 30-90 GPa. Cmcm-H2I and P6/mmm-H4I are found on the 100, 150 and 200 GPa convex hulls.

ABSTRACT Malabsorption is a complex and multifaceted condition characterised by the defective passage of nutrients into the blood and lymphatic streams. Several congenital or acquired disorders may cause either selective or global malabsorption in both children and adults, such as cystic fibrosis, exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI), coeliac ...
