Ion beam induced luminescence analysis of europium complexes in styrene-divinylbenzene copolymer-coated spherical silica by proton and argon ion beams irradiation

open access: yes, 2023
Ion beam induced luminescence (IBIL) analysis of adsorbents containing Eu complexes was carried out using a 3-MV single-ended accelerator and an azimuthally varying field cyclotron to evaluate structures of complexes in an extraction chromatography. Some

Hydrogen‐Assisted Fracture of Iron‐Based Fe–Ni–Al Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Principal relations and fracture mechanisms of single‐phase and precipitate‐strengthened Fe–Ni–Al alloys subjected to prior electrochemical hydrogen charging are identified. The mechanisms of hydrogen effect on strength and microhardness are discussed, including hydrogen‐induced increase in microhardness and the role of hydrogen in fracture behavior ...

Anisotropic Deformation Of Polystyrene Particles By Mev Au Ion Irradiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
MeV An irradiation leads to a shape change of polystyrene (PS) and SiO2 particles from spherical to ellipsoidal, with an aspect ratio that can be precisely controlled by the ion fluence.

Surface nanostructuring of titanium alloy dental screws by 10 keV Ar+ irradiation

open access: yesResults in Surfaces and Interfaces
The influence of 10 keV Ar+ ion irradiation on the surface topography of Ti–6Al–4V dental screws was investigated. The surface facing the ion beam became uniformly covered with nanoprotrusions, the size of which increased with the ion fluence.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.
