Preparation of antioxidant peptides from oat globulin

open access: yesCyTA - Journal of Food, 2020
In order to isolate antioxidant peptides from oats globulin hydrolyzed alcalase, an antioxidant peptide was isolated and purified using ultra-filtration and ion-exchange chromatography. Hydroxyl and 1,1-diphenyl-2-pycrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging

Chromium (III) complexes and their relationship to the glucose tolerance factor : a thesis presented in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Chemistry at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
Two forms of the dinicotinate complex Cr(nic)2(H2O)3OH were formed which were yellow and blue, respectively. For the yellow form the nicotinic acid ligands were coordinated via the pyridine ring nitrogen atom but this complex was biologically inactive ...

Role of Histidine‐Containing Peptoids in Accelerating the Kinetics of Calcite Growth

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amphiphilic histidine‐containing peptoids mimic carbonic anhydrase (CA) to accelerate calcite step growth. In the presence of Zn2+, they promote the deprotonation of HCO3−, the desolvation of Ca2+, and the reorganization of interfacial hydration layers, thereby reducing the activation barrier for calcite growth.

A Simplified and Selective Technique for The Direct Recovery of Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase From Unclarified Yeast Feedstock [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The development of a simplified and rapid technique for the selective recovery of proteins from Bakers' yeast was undertaken. Purification of Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) from Saccharomyces cerevisiae was chosen demonstrate of this ...

Towards understanding the design of dual-modal MR/fluorescent probes to sense zinc ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
A series of gadolinium complexes were synthesised in order to test the design of dual-modal probes that display a change in fluorescence or relaxivity response upon binding of zinc.

High‐Resolution Characterization of Protein‐Conjugated, mRNA‐Loaded Lipid Nanoparticles by Analytical Ultracentrifugation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Lipid nanoparticles containing messenger RNA are characterized by sedimentation velocity analytical ultracentrifugation using UltraScan's new Custom Grid algorithm to provide multi‐dimensional distributions for partial specific volume (particle density), molar mass, sedimentation, diffusion, and hydrodynamic radius.

The development of a purification procedure for Peptide:n-Glycosidase A from Prunus amygdalus : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Biochemistry at Massey University [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Peptide-N4-acetyl-β-glucosaminyl) asparagine amidases cleave the amide bond between N-linked glycans at N-acetylglucosamine and asparagine, liberating intact oligosaccharide chains from glycoproteins. Although PNGase A is commonly used by glycobiologists

Chiral Nanohoops as an Efficient Spin Polarization System

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral conjugated nanohoops with a central dibenzopentalene unit exhibit 90% spin polarization at low voltage and high conductivity. These properties make them ideal components in molecular spintronics applications. Abstract A central challenge in molecular spintronics is to achieve a high spin polarization at low operating voltages and ambient ...

Pemurnian Dan Karakteristik Dextranase Bacteroides Ruminicola Subsp Brevis [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
The dextranase of B.ruminicola subsp. brevis from bovine rumen has high ability to degrade the D - (1,6) a-glucosidic linkages of dextran substrate. Purification of crude dextranase was done by using ion-exchange chromatography and electrophoresis.
