Photoelectrochemical ion concentration polarization : a microfluidic ion filtration system using light-driven electrochemical reactions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We report an ion separation or filtration method used in microchannel called photoelectrochemical ion concentration polarization (pICP). As a variant of faradaic ion concentration polarization (fICP), pICP utilizes TiO₂ photoelectrochemistry to form an ...

THE PREPARATION OF AN IODATE SELECTIVE ELECTRODE USING SILVER IODATE AS THE ACTIVE AGENT IN A CHITOSAN SUPPORT

open access: yesIndonesian Journal of Chemistry, 2010
The iodate-selective electrode based on the principle of precipitation reaction could be made by coating the platinum wire with silver iodate (AgIO3). In this research was carried out optimization the iodate-selective electrode using chitosan membrane as

Transformed Composite Sequences for Improved Qubit Addressing

open access: yes, 2014
Selective laser addressing of a single atom or atomic ion qubit can be improved using narrowband composite pulse sequences. We describe a Lie-algebraic technique to generalize known narrowband sequences and introduce new sequences related by dilation and

Voltage gated inter-cation selective ion channels from graphene nanopores [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
With the ability to selectively control ionic flux, biological protein ion channels perform a fundamental role in many physiological processes. For practical applications that require the functionality of a biological ion channel, graphene provides a ...

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Special Issue “Advances in Artificial and Biological Membranes: Mechanisms of Ionic Sensitivity, Ion-Sensor Designs, and Applications for Ion Measurement”

open access: yesMembranes, 2020
Ion sensors, conventionally known as ion-selective membrane electrodes, were devised 100 years ago with the invention of a pH electrode with a glass membrane (in 1906 Cremer, in 1909 Haber and Klemensiewicz) [...]

Neurotransmitter modulation of extracellular H+ fluxes from isolated retinal horizontal cells of the skate

open access: yes, 2004
Self-referencing H+-selective microelectrodes were used to measure extracellular H+ fluxes from horizontal cells isolated from the skate retina. A standing H+ flux was detected from quiescent cells, indicating a higher concentration of free hydrogen ions

Exploring Dipolar Dynamics and Ionic Transport in Metal‐Organic Frameworks: Experimental and Theoretical Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, the interplay of dipolar dynamics and ionic charge transport in MOF compounds is investigated. Synthesizing the novel structure CFA‐25 with integrated freely rotating dipolar groups, local and macroscopic effects, including interactions with Cs cations are explored.
