Indium tin oxide overlayered waveguides for sensor applications [PDF]
The use of indium tin oxide (ITO) thin films as electrodes for integrated optical electrochemical sensor devices is discussed. The effect of various thicknesses of ITO overlayers exhibiting low resistivity and high transparency on potassium ion-exchanged

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Stability optimization based on high-resolution spatial thermal distribution of a single 174Yb+ ion
Trapped ion systems play a vital role in fields such as quantum information processing and optical frequency standards. Low-energy, highly stable trapped ions enable precise quantum manipulation and significantly reduce Doppler effect.

Hydrostatic pressure activates HIF‐1α via β‐catenin to promote stemness in breast cancer cells
To mimic the elevated intestinal fluid pressure in breast cancers, we loaded human breast cancer cells (MCF‐7, MDA‐MB‐453, and BT‐474) to 50 mmHg hydrostatic pressure. Hydrostatic pressure exposure upregulated HIF‐1α and induced stemness in MCF‐7 and BT‐474 cells.

Electric potential and ion drag force in highly collisional complex plasma [PDF]
This PhD thesis is a cumulative dissertation that consists of three papers. The first paper describes the qualitative as well as quantitative nature of the electrostatic potential behind a macroparticle in a drifting collisional plasma and also the ion

The crystal structure of Borrelia burgdorferi nicotinamidase (PncA/BBE22) reveals the correct full‐length protein initiated from a non‐canonical AUU start codon. The structure validates previous biochemical findings and resolves a long‐standing annotation error, demonstrating that the truncated database sequence is structurally incompatible with the ...

An In-Situ TEM Study of High Temperature Helium Irradiation of 4H-SiC [PDF]
SiC is an excellent candidate material for use in fusion and fission nuclear reactors. The work done in this thesis aims to understand the behaviour of SiC under He irradiation at high temperatures.

Defect structure in yttrium, niobium and lead substituted bismuth oxide solid electrolytes [PDF]
PhDBismuth oxide based electrolytes are well known for their high oxide ion conductivity at intermediate temperatures (300-700C). Indeed, the defect fluorite structured -phase of Bi2O3 shows the highest known oxide ion conductivity of any material ...
