Optimization and simulation of MEMS rectilinear ion trap

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2015
In this paper, the design of a MEMS rectilinear ion trap was optimized under simulated conditions. The size range of the MEMS rectilinear ion trap’s electrodes studied in this paper is measured at micron scale.

Study of Dipolar Direct Current Excitation Driven-Collision Induced Dissociation Processes in Digital Ion Traps [PDF]

open access: yesZhipu Xuebao, 2023
The development of fragment ion detection is significant for improving the analysis capacity of mass spectrometry. Fragmentation technique has been widely used in the identification of peptides and top-down/bottom-up proteomics analysis.

Ion trapping and cathode bombardment by trapped ions in DC photoguns [PDF]

open access: yes2007 IEEE Particle Accelerator Conference (PAC), 2007
Ion back bombardment is believed to be a main cause of degradation of quantum efficiency of photocathodes in fixed-voltage photoguns. Ions produced in collisions of the electron beam with residual gas in the cathode-anode gap are accelerated towards the cathode and bombard the cathode surface, reducing its quantum efficiency.

Ion trapping with fast-response ion-selective microelectrodes enhances detection of extracellular ion channel gradients [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Previously, functional mapping of channels has been achieved by measuring the passage of net charge and of specific ions with electrophysiological and intracellular fluorescence imaging techniques.

Efficient computational scheme for ion dynamics in RF-field of Paul trap

open access: yesDiscrete and Continuous Models and Applied Computational Science, 2019
We have developed an efficient computational scheme for integration of the classical Hamilton equations describing the ion dynamics confined in the radio-frequency field of the Paul trap.

Ion-Trap-Performance Enhancement Utilizing Pulsed Buffer-Gas Introduction

open access: yes, 2018
A novel means of improving the resolution and total ion signal inside a digitally driven 3D quadrupole ion trap has been studied. Conventional ion-trapping methods occur by injecting helium gas continuously into the trap to kinetically cool ions and ...

Effect of ion-trap parameters on energy distributions of ultra-cold atom–ion mixtures

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2020
Experiments in which ultra-cold neutral atoms and charged ions are overlapped, constitute a new field in atomic and molecular physics, with applications ranging from studying out-of-equilibrium dynamics to simulating quantum many-body systems.
