A Conjoined Rectilinear Collision Cell and Pulsed Extraction Ion Trap with Auxiliary DC Electrodes.
Ion traps are routinely directly coupled to mass analyzers, where they serve to suitably cool and shape an ion population prior to pulsed extraction into the analyzer proper.

Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Experimental Methods for Trapping Ions Using Microfabricated Surface Ion Traps [PDF]
Ions trapped in a quadrupole Paul trap have been considered one of the strong physical candidates to implement quantum information processing. This is due to their long coherence time and their capability to manipulate and detect individual quantum bits (qubits).

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

[2]Catenanes Displaying Switchable Gin-Trap-Like Motion
Sodium ion-controlled switching from “folded” to “linear” states results in significant changes in the molecular shape of a [2]catenane, such that it mimics the operation of a gin trap, with a fluorescent alarm signal appearing when pyrene side arms ...
