Molecular Dynamics of Lithium Ion Transport in a Model Solid Electrolyte Interphase
Li+ transport within a solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) in lithium ion batteries has challenged molecular dynamics (MD) studies due to limited compositional control of that layer.

Surface or bulk He existence effect on deuterium retention in Fe ion damaged W
To evaluate Helium (He) effect on hydrogen isotope retention in tungsten (W), He+ was introduced into W bulk by 201 – 1000 keV He+, or W surface by 3 keV He+ for 6 MeV Fe ion damaged W at room temperature.

Experimental Methods for Trapping Ions Using Microfabricated Surface Ion Traps [PDF]
Ions trapped in a quadrupole Paul trap have been considered one of the strong physical candidates to implement quantum information processing. This is due to their long coherence time and their capability to manipulate and detect individual quantum bits (qubits).

Evaporation of buffer gas-thermalized anions out of a multipole rf ion trap
We identify plain evaporation of ions as the fundamental loss mechanism out of a multipole ion trap. Using thermalized negative Cl- ions we find that the evaporative loss rate is proportional to a Boltzmann factor.

Mass spectrometry based identification of AMP‐O‐Tris generated by Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10
Isolated Thermococcus onnurineus Cas10 generates the noncanonical ATP‐derived product AMP‐O‐Tris while in Tris‐containing buffer as identified via mass spectrometry, revealing relaxed nucleophile selectivity under isolated conditions. These findings suggest that multiprotein Csm complex assembly restricts Cas10 reactivity toward canonical cyclic ...

Design, Fabrication, and Experimental Demonstration of Junction Surface Ion Traps
We present the design, fabrication, and experimental implementation of surface ion traps with Y-shaped junctions. The traps are designed to minimize the pseudopotential variations in the junction region at the symmetric intersection of three linear ...

Neutrino Trapping in a Supernova and Ion Screening [PDF]
Neutrino-nucleus elastic scattering is reduced in dense matter because of correlations between ions. The static structure factor for a plasma of electrons and ions is calculated from Monte Carlo simulations and parameterized with a least squares fit. Our

Harnessing Fungal Biowelding for Constructing Mycelium‐Engineered Materials
Mycelium‐bound composites (MBCs) offer low‐carbon alternatives for construction, yet interfacial bonding remains a critical challenge. This review examines fungal biowelding as a biocompatible adhesive, elucidating mycelium‐mediated interfacial mechanisms and their role in material assembly. Strategies to optimize biowelding are discussed, highlighting

Deuterium retention behavior in simultaneously He+–D2+ implanted tungsten
Poly-crystalline tungsten (W) samples were simultaneously irradiated with Helium (He) and Deuterium (D) ions using the triple-ion implantation device. He effect on D retention and transportation was studied using different combination of ion energies and

Ion Effects in the Damping Rings of ILC and CLIC [PDF]
We discuss ion trapping, rise time of fast beam-ion instability, and ion-induced incoherent tune shift for various incarnations of the ILC damping rings and for the CLIC damping ring, taking into account the different regions of each ring.
