Amphiphilic Ionic Liquid Induced Fusion of Phospholipid Liposomes
Membrane fusion is a key biological phenomenon with potential applications in biotechnology. In this work, we provide biophysical and structural evidence that liposomes composed of POPC/POPG phospholipids undergo fusion in the presence of ionic liquids ...

Tuning Ionic Screening to Accelerate Electrochemical CO2 Reduction in Ionic Liquid Electrolytes
Electric double layer formation often governs the rate and selectivity of CO2 electrochemical reduction. Ionic correlations critically define double layer properties that are essential to electrocatalytic performance, including capacitance and ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

High-frequency shear viscosity and ionic mobility of solutions of polyethylene glycol in ionic liquids [PDF]
The frequency-dependent complex shear viscosity of the solutions of polyethylene glycol (PEG) in various ionic liquids is measured in the frequency range of 5–205 MHz, and the ionic mobility of the corresponding solutions was also determined. The plateau

We report on the metal-free and rapid catalytic conversion of carbon dioxide into cyclic carbonates under solventless conditions utilizing novel bifunctional fluoroalcohol-based ionic liquids (FBILs) as catalsyts. In the presence of 2.5 mol% 4-(1,1,1,3,3,

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
