Ionization correction factors for ionized nebulae
In this paper we discuss the calculation of chemical abundances in planetary nebulae and H II regions through ionization correction factors (ICFs). We review the first ICFs proposed in the literature based on ionization potential similarities and we present the most recent ICFs derived from large sample of photoionization models.

Calorimetric ionization detector [PDF]
Abstract A new mode of operation for ionization detectors is described. The amount of ionization produced in a detector is determined by measuring the amount of heat generated during the carrier collection process. Very high detection sensitivities, including single carrier detection, may be achieved at cryogenic temperatures.

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Few Body Effects in the Electron and Positron Impact Ionization of Atoms
Triple differential cross sections (TDCS) are presented for the electron and positron impact ionization of inert gas atoms in a range of energy sharing geometries where a number of significant few body effects compete to define the shape of the TDCS ...

The cochaperone BAG3 promotes the stabilization of p53 under heat stress conditions
Under heat stress, BAG3 translocates to the nucleus and forms a complex with Hsp70 and p53, thereby promoting p53 stabilization and enhancing its transcriptional activity. These findings suggest that BAG3 functions as a cochaperone that supports p53‐mediated stress responses in cooperation with Hsp70.

Structural and functional characterization of chitinase from carnivorous plant Drosera adelae
A class I chitinase from the carnivorous plant Drosera adelae was expressed and purified using a yeast system, revealing high enzymatic activity. Structural analyses of the catalytic and chitin‐binding domains identified key tyrosine residues involved in substrate binding, offering insights into the enzyme's adaptation for insect digestion.

Unstable Leader Inception Criteria of Atmospheric Discharges
In the literature, there are different criteria to represent the formation of a leader channel in short and long gap discharges. Due to the complexity of the physics of the heating phenomena, and the limitations of the computational resources, a ...

Modeling of Ionization in a Spherical Surface Ionizer
A Monte Carlo method-based model of a hot cavity surface ion source with a spherically shaped ionizer is presented. A numerical code enables studies of ion source efficiency as a function of an extraction voltage, geometry of the ionizer and its temperature, the size of extraction aperture and many other factors.

Production of antibacterial compounds by a Steely hybrid polyketide synthase in Dictyostelium
By selecting appropriate production species under optimised culture conditions, new chlorinated dibenzofuran compounds, which previously could not be analysed in sufficient quantities, were identified from cellular slime mould fruiting bodies. The strong antibacterial activity exhibited by these compounds suggests a link to the ecological function of ...

Central Dysmyelination in SSADH‐Deficient Humans and Mice
ABSTRACT Objectives Succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase deficiency (SSADHD) is an inherited metabolic disorder characterized by an accumulation of γ‐aminobutyric (GABA). In addition to its synaptic role as an inhibitory neurotransmitter, GABA also plays an important role in myelination.
