Phytotoxic Substance with Allelopathic Activity in
The grass Brachiaria decumbens becomes naturalized and quickly dominant in non-native areas. It was hypothesized that phytotoxic substances of plants may contribute to the domination and invasion of the plants. However, no potent phytotoxic substance has

The protogynous flowers of Isotrema manshuriense exhibit multimodal cues, resembling both generalized food sources and fly oviposition sites, with these cues varying across sexual phases. Abstract The genus Aristolochia is renowned for its kettle‐like trap flowers that temporarily retain visiting insects, primarily using trapping trichomes.

A Simplified Approach for Electrochemical Allylic Oxidation of Olefins
A simple method for electrochemical allylic oxidation of olefins is established. t‐Butyl hydroperoxide serves in a dual‐role as mediator and oxygen source. Metal‐free and robust electrode materials such as glassy carbon, graphite, or boron‐doped diamond can be employed.

Abstract In senescent leaves of banana (Musa acuminata) hypermodified fluorescent chlorophyll (Chl) catabolites (hmFCCs) accumulate and give these leaves an easily observable blue fluorescence. Non‐fluorescent Chl‐catabolites (NCCs) are not detected, the typical colourless Chl‐catabolites that accumulate in most de‐greened plant leaves. Here, we report

Dehydration studies of α- and β-ionol. II. With Toluene-p-sulfonic acid
α-Ionol (2), when made to react with a 5% solution of toluene-p-sulfonic acid at 20 for 120 h, gave in 20% yield one major dehydration product (1'E)-6-(buta-1',3'-dienyl)-1 ,5,5-trimethylcyclohex- 1-ene (4a) together with trace quantities of the (1'Z ...

Significance Statement A bi‐parental population has been created from cassava varieties ECU72 and COL2246, which are tolerant and susceptible to whitefly (Bemisia tabaci), respectively. Metabolomic characterisation of the F1 and F2 generations has revealed comparative metabotypes for whitefly tolerance, leading to metabolite biomarkers and sectors of ...
