Ionomics and the Study of the Plant Ionome
Annual Review of Plant Biology, 2008The ionome is defined as the mineral nutrient and trace element composition of an organism and represents the inorganic component of cellular and organismal systems. Ionomics, the study of the ionome, involves the quantitative and simultaneous measurement of the elemental composition of living organisms and changes in this composition in response to ...

Progress in Rubber and Plastics Technology, 2000
The study of ionomers presents a promising and challenging area of modern polymer science and technology. Though ionomers are emerging as important commercial polymers, they have many intriguing characteristics. Because of the thermally reversible ionic associations, ionomers behave like cross-linked materials at ambient temperatures.

Redox active LC ionomers: LC ionomers as materials for compatible blends with amorphous ionomers
Acta Polymerica, 1995AbstractRedoxactive liquid crystalline (LC) side group polymers were prepared by copolymerization of liquid crystalline acrylates and ferrocene‐containing acrylates. The corresponding liquid crystalline ionomers were synthesized by a reversible redox reaction.

Ionomer Solutions = Polyelectrolyte or Ionomer Behavior?
1994For almost ten years the properties of ionomer solutions have been studied and lightly sulfonated polystyrene (S-PS) was chosen as the model compound. The properties of S-PS ionomer solutions in polar and nonpolar solvents, which are briefly reviewed, were associated with polyelectrolyte and ionomer behavior respectively.

Deformation and fracture behavior of polystyrene ionomer and ionomer blends
Colloid & Polymer Science, 1992The deformation and fracture behavior of sulphonated polystyrene ionomers, and of blends of these with polystyrene have been investigated. The microstructure of the ionomer, which varies with ion content, appears to have a significant effect on mechanical properties.

AbstractThe preparation and properties of highly crystalline ionomers formed by the copolymerization of propylene and low levels of ethylcholoroaluminium 10‐undecenoate have been investigated. Few of the variables studied had dramatic effects on the copolymerization. Thus, a five‐fold increase in undecenoate concentration gave only about a 20% increase
