Effects of increasing monensin doses on performance of mid-lactating Holstein cows

open access: yesJournal of Applied Animal Research, 2019
The objective of this study was to determine the effect of increasing monensin doses on intake, nutrient digestion, ruminal fermentation, nitrogen balance, blood metabolites, milk yield and composition of lactating dairy cows. Twelve Holstein cows (135 ±

FDX1 Depletion Activates CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity by Promoting DMBT1 Secretion in Cuproptosis of Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Elesclomol‐induced cuproptosis potently activates both innate and adaptive antitumor immunity, especially CD8+ T cell immunity. FDX1 serves as a central regulator of CD8+ T cell functionality through DMBT1 downregulation during cuproptosis in colorectal cancer.

Roscovitine in combination with calcium ionophore induces oocyte activation through reduction of M-phase promoting factor activity in mice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
SummaryThe aim of the present study was to determine oocyte activation and change in M-phase promoting factor (MPF) activity induced by treatment with calcium ionophore and roscovitine in comparison with those induced by treatment with roscovitine alone ...

GCN2 in proteostasis: structural logic, signalling networks and disease

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Threats to protein synthesis activate the kinase GCN2, initiating the integrated stress response (ISR). GCN2 is triggered by stalled ribosomes and uncharged tRNAs, which accumulate when amino acids are scarce. The ISR adjusts cellular physiology by promoting redox balance, protein quality control, and mitochondrial optimisation.

Mathematical model of current-polarized ionophore-based ion-selective membranes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A mathematical model is presented to describe the effects of constant current on ion-selective membranes using theta functions. The model provides exact analytic solutions for calculating the concentration polarization of the ionophore, the ion-ionophore

Ionophore-Based Potentiometric Sensors for the Flow-Injection Determination of Promethazine Hydrochloride in Pharmaceutical Formulations and Human Urine

open access: yesSensors, 2011
Plasticised poly(vinyl chloride)-based membranes containing the ionophores (α-, β- and γ-cyclodextrins (CD), dibenzo-18-crown-6 (DB18C6) and dibenzo-30-crown-10 (DB30C10) were evaluated for their potentiometric response towards promethazine (PM) in a ...

Mast Cells Selectively Deliver Extracellular Vesicle‐Encapsulated mRNA to Colorectal Cancer Cells

open access: yesImmunology &Cell Biology, EarlyView.
Schematic overview of mast cell‐colorectal cancer cell interactions. Mast cells bind to colorectal cancer cells through integrin‐mediated adhesion (1). Calcium influx arises in mast cells (2). Calcium signaling is required for the release of mRNA‐ and protein‐containing vesicles (3), resulting in the transfer of mast cell‐derived mRNA and proteins to ...
