Aminoglycoside-Induced Phosphatidylserine Externalization in Sensory Hair Cells Is Regionally Restricted, Rapid, and Reversible [PDF]
The aminophospholipid phosphatidylserine (PS) is normally restricted to the inner leaflet of the plasma membrane. During certain cellular processes, including apoptosis, PS translocates to the outer leaflet and can be labeled with externally applied ...

Research Progress of Cuproptosis in Orthopaedics: Opportunities and Challenges
ABSTRACT Cuproptosis, a recently identified and copper‐dependent form of regulated cell death, has emerged as a potential therapeutic target for a variety of diseases. This review synthesizes current evidence from PubMed to elucidate the mechanisms of cuproptosis and its implications in common orthopaedic disorders, including arthritis, bone tumours ...

Remote Loading of 64Cu2+ into Liposomes without the Use of Ion Transport Enhancers [PDF]
Due to low ion permeability of lipid bilayers, it has been and still is common practice to use transporter molecules such as ionophores or lipophilic chelators to increase transmembrane diffusion rates and loading efficiencies of radionuclides into ...

Chromaffin Versus Platelet Granules: What We Have Learned From Chromaffin Cells for Human Studies
Chromaffin cells and platelets both utilize exocytosis to release biogenic amines stored within large dense‐core vesicles—specifically chromaffin granules (epinephrine) and δ‐granules (serotonin). While the chromaffin cell is the foundational model for studying the secretory pathway, platelets offer a highly accessible human cell source for clinical ...

Copper(II), a Peculiar Metal Ion for Complexation With Monensin A Ionophore
Copper(II) forms three chiral and EPR‐active complexes with monensinate A in methanol. Beside the bis [CuL2] and mono [CuL]+ species, the new dinuclear construct [Cu2L]3+ exhibits an [ML]+‐type and a metal salt‐type copper(II) centers weakly bound to each other through counter ion(s) and thus, being magnetically independent.
