Adaptive flux-weakening controller for IPMSM drives

2011 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition, 2011
Voltage feed-back flux-weakening (FW) control scheme for vector-controlled Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) drive systems is considered in this paper. The voltage controller is based on the difference between the amplitude of the reference voltage space vector and a proper limit value, related to the feeding inverter limitations, and

Experimental Identification of IPMSM Flux-Linkage Considering Spatial Harmonics for High-Accuracy Simulation of IPMSM Drives

2018 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2018
This paper proposes an identification scheme of interior permanent-magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) flux-linkage through experimental tests considering the magnetic saturation and spatial harmonics. In proposed scheme, flux-linkage is identified based on the voltage equation of IPMSM.

Adaptive deadbeat current controller for IPMSM

2016 21st International Conference on Methods and Models in Automation and Robotics (MMAR), 2016
This paper presents an idea of adaptive predictive current controller for IPMSM (Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine). It consists of introduction to predictive control techniques applied for current control, mathematical formulation of a control problem, simulation results and summary. Simulations consider also robustness of classic deadbeat

Modified backstepping control of IPMSM: Experimental tests

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part I: Journal of Systems and Control Engineering, 2022
The purpose of this paper is to propose a new control technique for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor that has been designed using a modified integral backstepping controller. This architecture consists of a nonlinear backstepping control scheme to achieve the purpose of speed tracking.

IPMSM Using Permalloy and Bond Magnet

2020 International Symposium on Power Electronics, Electrical Drives, Automation and Motion (SPEEDAM), 2020
This paper proposes an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) with new rotor structure. It can extend the high-speed range. By using two types of permanent magnets with different coercive forces appropriately, the magnetic flux of permanent magnet linked to the stator can be further reduced during the flux-weakening control.

Nonlinear backstepping design of IPMSM controller

2007 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2007
This paper presents a speed controller for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) based on adaptive backstepping method. By using the nonlinear model of IPMSM and backstepping method, the Lyapunov functions are constructed in order to enable the system to have uniformly asymptotic stability and unperturbed controller is designed ...

Current Sensorless MTPA for IPMSM Drives

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2017
In this paper, a maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control strategy is presented for interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs) without current sensing or regulation. The developed control scheme achieves MTPA using a direct voltage control method, which varies the machine's stator voltage amplitude and angle.

PM material selection guide for IPMSM

2016 XXII International Conference on Electrical Machines (ICEM), 2016
The aim of this paper is to provide a well-organized design procedure for selecting the proper permanent magnet (PM) material to be used in constructing the interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSM). A simple and clear design flow chart is introduced to support the machine designer in each design step. The design starts by selecting one of

Self tuning IPMSM direct torque controller

2008 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2008
An online adaptive routine is presented for optimum direct torque control of Interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSM). Optimum control is provided by minimizing of a predefined particular cost function which causes proper selecting of the voltage vector to minimize electrical torque variations. In addition, the required parameters of cost

Embedded digital protection for IPMSM drives

2013 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2013
This paper presents the development, real-time implementation, and experimental testing of a new embedded digital protection for three phase (3φ) interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) drives. The proposed digital protection is established through extracting the high frequency sub-band contents present in the d-q-axis components of the ...
