A new magnetic matrix model of IPMSM

IECON 2010 - 36th Annual Conference on IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2010
Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(IPMSM) is used for wide applications because of its large torque density and high efficiency. However, IPMSM has large space harmonics and strong magnetic nonlinearity. The establishment of the dynamic characteristic analysis technique is required to examine control techniques to high performance and high ...

Sensorless Control of IPMSM in Zero- and Low-Speed Regions Using Dual Random High-Frequency Square-Wave Voltage Injection to Reduce Audible Noise

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
To accurately estimate the rotor position of an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM), high-frequency square-wave voltage injection (HFSVI) method has been widely used in position sensorless IPMSM drives at zero-low speed domain.

The precision inductance estimation of IPMSM for vehicles

2012 IEEE Vehicle Power and Propulsion Conference, 2012
The inductance of IPMSM was calculated using a Direct Current Test(DCT) and Current Vector Control Test (CVCT). The CVCT has advantages related to the current phase angle, and does not require separate experiment equipment. However, large error at current phase angles of 0° and 90° is generated.

Adaptive Observer Design for Sensorless IPMSM Drives With Known Regressors Variant of Extended EMF Model

IEEE transactions on power electronics
This article proposes a known regressors variant of the extended electromotive force (EMF) model, enabling rigorous theoretical stability analysis about the joint estimation of position, speed, and stator resistance in the full-order observer design ...

Design of Torque Density Improved Spoke-Type IPMSM for Electric Brake Booster Take Into Account Axial Leakage Flux

IEEE Transactions on Transportation Electrification
In order to analyze spoke-type interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) accurately, it is necessary to apply 3-D finite element analysis (3-D FEA) that takes into account axial leakage flux.

Nonlinear backstepping design of IPMSM controller

2007 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2007
This paper presents a speed controller for an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM) based on adaptive backstepping method. By using the nonlinear model of IPMSM and backstepping method, the Lyapunov functions are constructed in order to enable the system to have uniformly asymptotic stability and unperturbed controller is designed ...

Improved Adaptive CCS-MPCC for Distorted Model Parameters Mitigation of IPMSM Drives

IEEE transactions on industrial electronics (1982. Print)
In this article, a robust adaptive model continuous-control-set model predictive current control (CCS-MPCC) method is proposed for interior permanent magnet synchronous motors (IPMSMs) considering the existing disturbances, unmodeled dynamics, and ...

Current Sensorless MTPA for IPMSM Drives

IEEE/ASME Transactions on Mechatronics, 2017
In this paper, a maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control strategy is presented for interior permanent magnet synchronous machines (IPMSMs) without current sensing or regulation. The developed control scheme achieves MTPA using a direct voltage control method, which varies the machine's stator voltage amplitude and angle.

A reduction method of cogging torque for IPMSM

2005 International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2005
This paper describes a reduction technique of the cogging torque in an interior permanent magnet synchronous motor (IPMSM). IPMSM usually has the flux barrier for preventing the short circuit of magnetic flux near the magnet. The flux barrier can reduce the cogging torque, and therefore the shape of the flux barrier of IPMSM with concentrated winding ...

An Improved Rotor Cooling Structure of IPMSM

2019 22nd International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems (ICEMS), 2019
For the interior permanent magnet synchronous machine, the rotor temperature at the axial center is high because of its low axial thermal conductivity. The conventional the rotor structure with axial and radial vent holes has low air velocity in the axial center position, so the cooling performance for the rotor is unsatisfactory.
