Direct and correlated responses to selection on iridoid glycosides in Plantago lanceolata L. [PDF]
Plantago lanceolata L. (ribwort plantain) produces two costly terpenoid secondary plant compounds, the iridoid glycosides aucubin and catalpol. We performed an artificial selection experiment to investigate direct and correlated responses to selection on

ABSTRACT This study investigated the effect of pulsed electric field (PEF) treatment on cell disintegration and phenolic extractability from haskap (Lonicera caerulea L.) pomace generated after juice processing. Pomace samples were subjected to 16 PEF conditions combining electric field strengths of 1.0 and 1.5 kV/cm, pulse frequencies of 5 and 10 Hz ...

Iridoid Glycosides and Phenolic Glycosides from with Anti-inflammatory and Cytoprotective Activities
Chemical investigation of the methanol extract of the aerial parts of Buddleja asiatica resulted in the isolation of a new iridoid glycoside, buddlejasiaside A (1) and 11 known compounds: 6- O -[α-L-(4-isoferuloyl)-rhamnopyranosylcatalpol (2), specioside

We assessed Spodoptera litura (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) performance on five common pasture plant species. Larvae consumed more dock, plantain and chicory per day than red or white clover, but with lower conversion efficiencies. Feeding on red clover reduced weights and egg laying, and lengthened development times compared with plantain.

Flavonoid, Phenylethanoid And Iridoid Glycosides From Globularia Aphyllanthes [PDF]
A new flavone glycoside, 6-hydroxyluteolin 7-O-[6 '''-benzoyl-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1 -> 2)]-beta-D-glucopyranoside (aphyllanthoside, 1) was isolated from the MeOH extract of the aerial parts of Globularia aphyllanthes.
