A Systematic Clinical Framework for Postimplantation Monitoring in Thalamic Neuromodulation: Insights From Twiddler's Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This case described a 25‐year‐old pregnant woman with refractory multifocal epilepsy, diagnosed in 2020 and treated with bilateral thalamic deep brain stimulation (DBS) targeting the centromedian and pulvinar nuclei. Prior to DBS, she experienced daily focal seizures, often progressing to generalized tonic–clonic seizures despite optimal ...

Proton irradiation of simple gas mixtures: Influence of irradiation parameters [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
In order to get information about the influence of irradiation parameters on radiolysis processes of astrophysical interest, methane gas targets were irradiated with 6.5 MeV protons at a pressure of 1 bar and room temperature.

Deviations from Matthiessen's Rule for ${\rm SrRuO_3}$ and ${\rm CaRuO_3}$

open access: yes, 2000
We have measured the change in the resistivity of thin films of ${\rm SrRuO_3}$ and ${\rm CaRuO_3}$ upon introducing point defects by electron irradiation at low temperatures, and we find significant deviations from Matthiessen's rule.

RhoA and Rac1 as Mechanotransduction Mediators in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
Analysing RhoA and Rac1 protein levels in Colorectal cancer (CRC) samples under mechanical strain highlights their potential as diagnostic markers. Monitoring their activity could offer valuable insights into how cancer spreads, paving the way for new approaches to better understand and diagnose colorectal cancer.

Spin-dependent Pomeron and Odderon in elastic proton–proton scattering

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2020
We introduce a new model of near-forward elastic proton–(anti)proton scattering at high energy based on the modern formulation of Pomeron and Odderon in terms of Wilson lines and generalized transverse momentum dependent distributions.

Surface Morphology and Phase Stability of Titanium Foils Irradiated by 136 MeV 136Xe

open access: yes, 2013
A stack of titanium foils was irradiated with 136 MeV 136Xe to study microstructure damage and phase stability of titanium upon irradiation. X- ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy and atomic force microscopy were ...

Inhibition of Glutamine Metabolism Attenuates Tumor Progression Through Remodeling of the Macrophage Immune Microenvironment

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The prodrug strategy used in this study offers new promise for cancer metabolism‐based therapies. JHU083, a prodrug that, when cleaved by protease in the tumor microenvironment, yields the glutamine antagonist DON. JHU083 inhibits tumor growth by targeting glutamine‐addicted cancer cells and suppressing glutamine‐dependent M2 macrophages, leading to a ...
