Time evolution of a small reactive system
We investigate the irreversible evolution of a small system in which a chemical reaction takes place. We have two main goals: the first requires to find an equation to produce a time-irreversible behavior, the second consists in introducing a simple ...

In a murine model of myocardial ischemia and reperfusion (MI/R), the CD36 azapeptide ligand MPE‐298 reduces cardiac injury and transiently lowers left ventricular long‐chain fatty acids (LCFAs) accumulation 3 h after reperfusion, accompanied by a decrease of oxidative stress and inflammation‐associated genes' expression in the heart and adipose tissue.

Approaching Irreversibility in Global Nuclear Politics [PDF]
Despite growing interest in irreversibility, it remains one of the least-studied concepts in the nuclear disarmament and arms control literature.

Irreversibility, uncertainty, and investment [PDF]
Despite its importance to economic growth and the evolution of market structure, the investment behavior of firms, industries, and countries remains poorly understood. This paper has several objectives. First, it reviews some basic models of irreversible

Investment, irreversibility, and financing constraints in transition economies [PDF]
Using a panel of 4223 Bulgarian, Czech, Polish, and Romanian firms, over the period 1998-2005, we show that financially constrained firms likely to face irreversibility constraints exhibit low and insignificant sensitivities of investment to cash flow ...

TisIBP8, a fungal‐derived hyperactive ice‐binding protein, helps Caenorhabditis elegans survive dehydration. It localizes near cell membranes, reduces cell damage, and helps maintain membrane structure during drying. These results suggest that ice‐binding proteins can protect cells from dehydration stress as well as freezing stress.

Molecular theory of irreversibility [PDF]
A generalization of the Gibbs entropy postulate is proposed based on the Bogolyubov-Born-Green-Kirkwood-Yvon hierarchy of equations as the nonequilibrium entropy for a system of N interacting particles. This entropy satisfies the basic principles of thermodynamics in the sense that it reaches its maximum at equilibrium and is coherent with the second ...

Aging Is a Key Driver for Adult Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a classical age‐related hematologic malignancy, and a key driver of AML is aging, which profoundly regulates intrinsic factors such as genomic instability, epigenetic reprogramming, and metabolic dysregulation, and alters bone marrow microenvironment.

Remarks on the Logic of Irreversible Actions [PDF]
This paper proposes a logical system in which reversible and irreversible processes could be uniformly handled. This attempt originates in the observation that the question of reversibility not essentially emerges in logic, nor yet in temporal logic in ...
