Ticagrelor versus Aspirin in Acute Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack.
BACKGROUND Ticagrelor may be a more effective antiplatelet therapy than aspirin for the prevention of recurrent stroke and cardiovascular events in patients with acute cerebral ischemia.

MeCP2 lactylation protects against ischemic stroke by reducing brain infarct volume and improving neurological outcomes. Lactylation at K210/K249 exerts neuroprotective effects by repressing the transcription of apoptosis‐associated genes, including Pdcd4 and Pla2g6. HDAC3 and p300 serve as key regulatory enzymes for MeCP2 lactylation following stroke.

Transient ischemic attack is a multidisciplinary problem
The paper discusses the issues associated with the definition of the concept «transient ischemic attack» (TIA) and with the prognosis of cerebrovascular disease after prior TIA.

Background Studies have reported increasing incidence of ischemic stroke in adults younger than 50 to 55 years. Information on temporal trends of other stroke subtypes and transient ischemic attack (TIA) is sparse.

Differential impact of acute fine particulate matter exposure on risk of stroke by stroke subtype, age, sex, and race: a case-crossover study [PDF]
Objective: Association between acute ambient fine particulate matter (PM2.5, aerodynamic diameter less than 2.5 and cardiovascular events are well documented. However, it remains unclear whether acute exposure to PM2.5 acts as a trigger for hemorrhagic (intracerebral or subarachnoid hemorrhage) or non-hemorrhagic (infarct or transient ischemic attack ...

SpectreRewind: Leaking Secrets to Past Instructions [PDF]
Transient execution attacks utilize micro-architectural covert channels to leak secrets that should not have been accessible during logical program execution. Commonly used micro-architectural covert channels are those that leave lasting footprints in the microarchitectural state, for example, a cache state change, from which the secret is recovered ...

Enlarged perivascular spaces and cognitive impairment after stroke and transient ischemic attack
Background Previous studies suggested that enlarged perivascular spaces are neuroimaging markers of cerebral small vessel disease. However, it is not clear whether enlarged perivascular spaces are associated with cognitive impairment.

Comparison of Clinical Scores for Predicting Stroke‐Associated Pneumonia After Acute Ischemic Stroke
Our study compared the discrimination and calibration of the Kwon Pneumonia Score, A2DS2 score, PANTHERIS score, AIS‐APS score, ISAN score, and PASS score in SAP identification; of these, the AIS‐APS score showed the best performance. ABSTRACT Objectives To compare the discrimination and calibration of six risk scoring systems in the assessment of ...
