The impact of cardiac resynchronization therapy on diastolic parameters and mitral regurgitation: echocardiographic analysis of ultrasound-based left ventricular endocardial pacing system

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
BackgroundThe WiSE-CRT system offers an innovative approach to biventricular pacing in individuals who previously were considered too high risk or had failed traditional transvenous CRT therapy.

Mild Functional Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation Following Acute Coronary Syndrome: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesHeart Views, 2011
Background: Ischemic mitral regurgitation is a frequent complication of acute coronary syndrome. It primarily occurs in patients with a prior myocardial infarction but also may be seen with acute ischemia, a setting in which the MR typically resolves ...

Indexed left atrial size predicts all-cause and cardiovascular mortality in patients undergoing aortic valve surgery [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
[Abstract] OBJECTIVES: The enlargement of the left atrium has been identified as a marker of chronically increased left ventricular filling pressure and left ventricular diastolic dysfunction.

Comparison of Intraoperative Doppler Flow Measurements and Algorithmic Flow Estimations in Patients Undergoing Durable Left Ventricular Assist Device Implantation

open access: yesArtificial Organs, EarlyView.
Direct intraoperative HeartMate 3 LVAD flow measurements using an ultrasonic probe revealed consistently higher values by approximately 0.5 L/min compared to device‐estimated flows. This discrepancy remained stable across pump speed settings, highlighting the importance of distinguishing measured from estimated flow in HeartMate 3 patients.

ASSOCIATION BETWEEN CARDIAC ARRHYTHMIAS, INTRACARDIAC AND CENTRAL HEMODYNAMICS IN PATIENTS WITH POST-INFARCTION CARDIOSCLEROSIS AND MITRAL REGURGITATION

open access: yesРоссийский кардиологический журнал, 2010
The study investigated the association between cardiac arrhythmias and hemodynamic parameters in patients with myocardial infarction and mitral regurgitation of varying severity.

Indirect Annuloplasty to Treat Functional Mitral Regurgitation: Current Results and Future Perspectives

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine, 2019
The incidence of mitral regurgitation (MR) is approximately 1.7% in the developed world, and this increases to more than 10% in patients aged over 75 years.

Primary cardiac T‐cell rich large B‐cell lymphoma causing aortic stenosis with metastasis in a Warmblood

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Education, EarlyView.
Summary An 18‐year‐old Warmblood mare was presented to the Royal Veterinary College Equine Referral Hospital for investigation of progressive periocular and facial swelling, weight loss and tachycardia. Physical examination additionally identified bilateral pansystolic (grade 5/6 basilar left‐sided, 2/6 right‐sided), cardiac murmurs, submandibular ...

Predictive power of different obesity measures for the presence of diastolic dysfunction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Objective: Body mass index (BMI) and waist circumference (WC) as measures of obesity have some limitations. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether one measure could predict the presence of diastolic dysfunction (DD) more accurately than the other ...
