Early Outcomes of Real‐World Aortic Valve Replacement With RESILIA Tissue in the Chinese Population

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 49, Issue 6, June 2026.
In this real‐world study of 250 Chinese patients scheduled for elective aortic valve replacement, the INSPIRIS RESILIA aortic valve demonstrated favorable 1‐year safety, with a 98.0% rate of freedom from all‐cause mortality and no observed structural valve deterioration, alongside stable hemodynamic performance.

Retrospective Cross‐Sectional Study of Transthoracic Echocardiographic Reports in Patients Diagnosed With Aortic Regurgitation in Mashhad, Iran; to Evaluate Echocardiographic Determinants of AR Severity, With Specific Focus on STJ‐Related Parameters

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Aortic regurgitation (AR) is associated with characteristic changes in aortic root geometry. Data on detailed echocardiographic patterns of AR in Iranian cohorts remain limited. This study aimed to describe the echocardiographic and etiologic characteristics of patients with AR and to assess the associations between ...

Is mitral valve repair superior to replacement for chronic ischemic mitral regurgitation with left ventricular dysfunction?

open access: yesJournal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, 2010
Background This study was undertaken to compare mitral valve repair and replacement as treatments for ischemic mitral regurgitation (IMR) with left ventricular dysfunction (LVD).

Suspected Cardioembolic Stroke Linked to Left Atrial Stunning After Pulsed Field Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
After pulsed field ablation with pulmonary vein and posterior wall isolation, a patient developed ischemic stroke due to left carotid artery occlusion. Pathology of the retrieved thrombus revealed an acute red thrombus, suggesting left atrial stunning–induced thrombus formation.

Prophylactic Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion During Mitral Valve Repair in Patients Without Atral Fibrillation: A Meta‐Analysis of Time to Event Data

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
In patients without atrial fibrillation undergoing mitral valve repair, prophylactic left atrial appendage occlusion significantly reduces long‐term thromboembolic events and early in‐hospital stroke, without increasing mortality, although it is associated with a higher incidence of postoperative atrial fibrillation.

Noncardioplegic Surgery for Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation.

open access: yesCirculation Journal, 2003
Twenty-seven consecutive patients underwent surgery for ischemic mitral regurgitation (MR): papillary muscle rupture (1), papillary muscle dysfunction (11) and annular dilatation (15). The grade of MR was moderate or severe, and the ejection fraction (EF) was less than 30% in 8 patients (mean, 43%).

Electrophysiological Substrate and Ablation Outcomes in Atrial Fibrillation With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy: A Propensity‐Matched Multicenter Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Multicentre retrospective propensity‐score‐matched cohort study (n = 286; 3 centres, Pakistan; 2015‐2023) comparing electrophysiological substrate and 12‐month ablation outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM‐AF, red) versus lone atrial fibrillation (Lone AF, green; 1:1 PSM on 14 covariates).

The Effect of Treatment Strategy of Chronic Ischemic Mitral Regurgitation on Long-Term Outcomes in Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Cardiovascular Surgery
Objective: To investigate the mid- and long-term outcomes of case-based selective strategy of mitral ring annuloplasty during coronary artery bypass grafting in patients with coronary artery disease accompanied by chronic ischemic mitral regurgitation ...

Clinical and Therapeutic Phenotypic Clustering and Prognostic Stratification in Heart Failure Patients With Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 42, Issue 3, June 2026.
Phenotype‐specific characteristics and potential mechanisms affecting outcomes in acute decompensated heart failure. The four phenotypes show distinct clinical profiles and associated prognoses. Phenotype 1 comprises relatively young males with reduced LVEF under optimal therapy, and Phenotype 2 includes middle‐aged females with generally favorable ...
