Side‐Chain Branching Dictates the σ–S Coupling in Conjugated Polymer Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 10, 25 May 2026.
The correlation between conductivity and Seebeck coefficient has been extensively studied in numerous works. Nevertheless, its association with side chains has not been thoroughly explored. In this work, we found that the distance between the branching points of side chains and the molecular backbones has a significant effect on thermoelectric ...

National, Subnational, and Risk‐Attributed Burden of Chronic Respiratory Diseases in Iran (1990–2021): A Longitudinal Clustering Analysis of Global Burden of Disease 2021 Data

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 5, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Policymakers require accurate and localized data on the burden of chronic respiratory diseases (CRDs) to allocate resources and design targeted interventions. Our objective was to explore longitudinal patterns in CRD metrics across Iranian provinces over three decades, leveraging recent subnational estimates from Global ...

Association of S100B Serum Level With Postoperative Cognitive Dysfunction (POCD) in Non‐Cardiac Surgery: A Meta‐Analysis Study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 9, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Postoperative cognitive dysfunction (POCD) is defined as a persistent decline in cognitive performance after a surgical procedure, for which no cause can be identified. S100B is a calcium‐binding protein present in many organs, including the brain. Serum levels have been suggested to be related to POCD.

Overall quality of life and emotional regulation among inmates: A narrative review

open access: yesPsychiatry and Clinical Neurosciences, Volume 80, Issue 4, Page 254-287, April 2026.
Although there is a plethora of studies related to quality of life (QoL), little is known about QoL in prison settings. Emotions and difficulties in emotional regulation in incarcerated individuals may affect inmates' QoL and also their ability to reintegrate into society.

Olanzapine Attenuates the Morphine‐Induced Conditioned Place Preference: The Involvement of the D2‐Like Dopamine Receptors

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
The results of this study demonstrated that olanzapine can inhibit morphine‐induced CPP behavior during the acquisition, expression, and extinction phases. These effects are likely mediated by the inhibition of dopamine receptors and a reduction in D2R protein expression in the HIP.

Dietary Bioactives and Physical Activity in the Regulation of Hippocampal Neurogenesis and Cognitive Decline

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
Exercise and dietary polyphenols enhance hippocampal plasticity and cognitive function via complementary molecular mechanisms. Central pathways include BDNF signaling, inflammation control, and mitochondrial regulation. Although synergy is mainly supported by preclinical data, lifestyle‐based strategies show promise for brain health maintenance ...
