Availability of Isoantigens to Circulating Antibodies [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Immunology, 1968
Summary Iodinated and purified C57BL/6 anti-DBA/2 isoantibodies have been shown to exhibit in vivo localization in organs of DBA/2 mice when injected. Lung, spleen and liver fixed large proportions of the injected antibodies while kidney, thymus, lymph nodes, and heart did not fix large amounts of isoantibodies.

Immunoglobulin Isoantigens (Allotypes) in the Mouse [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Immunology, 1966
Summary Rabbits were immunized with either normal mouse immunoglobulins or isolated mouse myeloma proteins from BALB/c or (BALB/c × NZB)F1 plasma cell tumors. The antisera were tested for antibodies directed to allotypic antigenic specificities by the method of inhibition of precipitation of I125 labeled antigens.

Thyroid blood group isoantigen expression: A parallel with ABH isoantigen expression in the distal colon [PDF]

open access: greenBritish Journal of Cancer, 1986
An interesting and not previously reported parallel has been observed between the known pattern of ABO (H) blood group isoantigen expression in normal and neoplastic colonic epithelium and that in the thyroid. Epithelial expression of blood group isoantigens was not observed in 16 specimens of normal or non-neoplastic thyroid tissue.

Are blood group isoantigens lost from malignant prostatic epithelium? Immunohistochemical support for the preservation of the H isoantigen [PDF]

open access: bronzeBritish Journal of Cancer, 1986
Previous studies while demonstrating the presence of blood group isoantigens on normal prostatic epithelium have failed to identify such antigens on malignant prostatic tissue. Using a series of blood group specific monoclonal antibodies directed towards the A, B, H and Y antigens we have reinvestigated blood group isoantigen expression in both benign ...

Isoantigens Available to Circulating Antibodies [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Immunology, 1969
Summary Further studies on the availability of mouse DBA/2 isoantigens to circulating antibodies were made. Isoantibodies isolated from multiparous C57BL females (by DBA/2 males) exhibited in vivo localization in tissues of DBA/2 mice.

CUTANEOUS HYPERSENSITIVITY REACTIONS TO CELLULAR ISOANTIGENS IN RATS [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 1967
Rats have been shown to be capable of displaying the various kinds of delayed cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions attributable to transplantation immunity previously described in guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, dogs, and man. The rat is unlike most other species in that much larger numbers of lymphoid cells are needed to incite these cutaneous ...

Immunologic Studies of Pancreas-Specific Isoantigens [PDF]

open access: bronzeThe Journal of Immunology, 1964
Summary Rhesus monkeys immunized with pooled Rhesus monkey pancreas extract and Freund's complete adjuvant developed pancreas-specific isoantibodies, and the electrophoretic mobility of the isoantigens is similar to that described in rabbits. Passive transfer of antiserum or immune lymph node and spleen cells to recipients

Isoantigens A, B, H(O) in nasopharyngeal carcinoma [PDF]

open access: bronzeCancer, 1983
Fifty cases of nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) and its metastasis in ten lymph nodes were studied for specific red cell adherence (SRCA) to determine if any loss of blood group isoantigens was present to explain some of the differences such as their preponderance in local Chinese population and variable clinicopathologic behavior.
