Complement receptor C3aR marks heterogeneous tumor‐associated macrophage states associated with improved survival in IDH‐wildtype glioblastoma

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
C3aR expression in IDH‐wildtype glioblastoma is predominantly associated with the myeloid/macrophage compartment and heterogeneous macrophage states. C3aR‐high tumors are enriched among MGMT promoter‐methylated tumors and show improved overall survival, although the prognostic association requires independent validation.

PTEN homozygous deletion is a negative prognostic factor in tumor treating fields‐treated glioblastoma, IDH wildtype patients

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
In a molecularly confirmed cohort of 64 newly diagnosed, TTFields‐treated glioblastomas, IDH‐wildtype, homozygous PTEN deletion was associated with markedly shorter overall survival (368 vs. 603 days) and remained an independent adverse prognostic factor.

Kinetic mechanism of Escherichia coli isocitrate dehydrogenase and its inhibition by glyoxylate and oxaloacetate

open access: yes, 1986
The inhibition of Escherichia coli isocitrate dehydrogenase by glyoxylate and oxaloacetate was examined. The shapes of the progress curves in the presence of the inhibitors depended on the order of addition of the assay components.

Histone deacetylase inhibitors as venetoclax‐sensitising partners in acute myeloid leukaemia: Mechanisms, pharmacology and translational perspectives

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Venetoclax combined with hypomethylating agents has improved treatment for older or unfit patients with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but resistance and relapse remain common. This review analyses the rationale for combining venetoclax with inhibitors of histone deacetylase (HDAC).

Decreased Expression by a Chemically Modified siRNA to PTBP1 Seriously Affects Warburg Effect in Colorectal Cancer Cells

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Chemically modified siR‐PTBP1 disrupts the Warburg effect by reprogramming pyruvate kinase splicing from PKM2 to PKM1. This metabolic shift activates the TCA cycle, increases ATP production, and excessive ROS generation, and ultimately induces apoptotic cell death in colorectal cancer cells.

Extraneural and extracranial metastatic astrocytoma with primitive neuroectodermal component: a case report

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports
Background Astrocytoma is a highly malignant tumor of the central nervous system with limited survival, despite standard multimodal therapies. While typically remains confined to the central nervous system, rare instances of extraneural and extracranial ...

Triggering SORL1 Expression Restricts ccRCC Progression by Inducing Ubiquitination‐Mediated c‐Myc Degradation

open access: yesCancer Science, EarlyView.
Targeted triggering of SORL1 expression through a novel MPOC delivery system could inhibit ccRCC progression through binding to TRIM22 and further promoting ubiquitination‐mediated C‐MYC degradation, thereby facilitating the inhibition of oxidative phosphorylation through transcriptional repression of ACO2 and IDH2.

Isocitrate Lyase from Germinating Soybean Cotyledons: Purification and Characterization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Ruchti, M. and Widmer, F. 1986. Isocitrate lyase from germinating soybean cotyledons: purification and characterization.—J. exp. Bot. 37: 1685-1690. Isocitrate lyase (E.C. 4.1.3.1) was purified from the cotyledons of 7-d-old soybean seedlings.
