Isocitric Lyase and Isocitric Dehydrogenase in Germinating Lettuce

Physiologia Plantarum, 1968
AbstractA soluble isocitric lyase is shown to occur in lettuce seeds. Its activity increases during germination till 72 hours and then falls again. No particulate lyase could be detected. In addition both a soluble and a particulate isocitric dehydrogenase is present in the seeds. Both enzymes react with NAD as well as with NADP.

The estimation of d-isocitric acid in urine using isocitrate dehydrogenase

Clinica Chimica Acta, 1978
The amount of D-isocitric acid in urine has been estimated using the enzyme isocitrate dehydrogenase. The technique is rapid and easy to perform. Reproducibility of results was good and results from recovery experiments were excellent. The concentration range for early morning urine samples from normal adults was 0.08-0.65 mmol/l with a mean of 0.29 ...

Mitochondrial Isocitrate Dehydrogenase and Isocitrate Oxidation of Rat Ventral Prostate

Enzyme, 2017
Mitochondrial preparations isolated from rat ventral prostate were capable of oxidizing isocitrate by way of NADP isocitrate dehydrogenase (NADP-IDH) and NADIDH. NAD-IDH activity required ADP for activation. The pH responses for NAD-IDH and NADP-IDH were quite different.

Coexistence of isocitrate lyase and NADP-isocitrate dehydrogenase in Turbatrix aceti mitochondria

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1978
Abstract Glyoxylate and Krebs cycle marker enzymes cobanded on sucrose gradients after isopycnic centrifugation of mitochondrial pellets. Mitochondrial heterogeneity was investigated by treating particles with a Nitro Blue Tetrazolium reaction mixture designed to specifically increase the buoyant density of mitochondria containing the Krebs cycle ...

Isocitrate dehydrogenase of Tetrahymena pyriformis

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1977
We have studied the isocitrate dehydrogenase of Tetrahymena pyriformis. This enzyme is able to utilize both NAD and NADP, but kinetic studies suggest that the enzymatic activity with NAD is not of physiological signifance. Some of the factors that might regualte the NADP-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase were also studied.

A comparison of the phosphorylated and unphosphorylated forms of isocitrate dehydrogenase from Escherichia coli ML308 [PDF]

open access: yesFEBS Letters, 1984
NADP+ can protect active isocitrate dehydrogenase against attack by several proteases. Inactive phosphorylated isocitrate dehydrogenase is much less susceptible to proteolysis than the active enzyme, and it is not protected by NADP+.

On the Mechanism of Action of Isocitrate Lyase

European Journal of Biochemistry, 1975
The enzymes citrate lyase and isocitrate lyase catalyse similar reactions in the cleavage of citrate to acetate plus oxaloacetate and of isocitrate to succinate plus glyoxylate, respectively. Nevertheless, the mechanism of action of each enzyme appears to be different from each other. Citrate lyase is an acyl carrier protein‐containing enzyme complex
