Electrophoretic separation of proteins via complexation with a polyelectrolyte
We suggest to augment standard isoelectronic focusing for separation of proteins in a gradient of pH by a similar focusing in the presence of a strongly charged polyelectrolyte (PE).

Secretion of the arginine-rich and A-I apolipoproteins by the isolated perfused rat liver
Rates of secretion of the arginine-rich and A-I apolipoproteins into perfusates of rat livers were measured by specific radioimmunoassays. Livers were perfused for 6 hr in a recirculating system in the presence or absence of 5,5′-dithionitrobenzoic acid,

Detection of a Distinct Erythropoietin (EPO) Profile After Isoelectric Focusing in Patients With Familial Erythrocytosis. [PDF]
A basic EPO IEF profile was identified in patients with familial erythropoiesis linked to mutations in noncoding parts of EPO gene. Comparison of blood and urine EPO profiles from these patients differed from adult wild‐type EPO (WT) and from Eprex‐administered patients. Patients' EPO do not differ from WT EPO after analysis using SDS‐PAGE/SAR‐PAGE. It

Determination of creatinine and creatine by capillary electrophoresis : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Chemistry at Massey University [PDF]
The assessment of creatinine and creatine in biological fluids is important in the evaluation of renal and muscular functions. For routine creatinine determinations in the clinical laboratory, the most frequently used method is the spectrophotometric one

We prepared five glycosylated liposomal nanoparticles (G‐LNPs) to investigate the role of glycosylation and protein corona in modulating the in vivo behavior of G‐LNPs. We show that IgG and complement C3 adsorption enhanced liposomal nanoparticle clearance, with IgG promoting subsequent C3 binding.

ABSTRACT Multimodal chromatography has emerged as a powerful tool for the purification of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) and their derivatives—including antibody fragments (Fabs), Fc‐fusions, bispecific (BsAb), and antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs)—offering enhanced selectivity through the integration of ionic, hydrophobic, hydrogen‐bonding, and π–π ...

ABSTRACT Secretory immunoglobulin A (sIgA) is a promising emerging biopharmaceutical candidate, but it currently lacks a standardized platform for purification. To address this, a novel affinity chromatography resin was developed by immobilizing protein variants of the Streptococcus pneumoniae surface protein, SpsA, as an affinity ligand.

Abstract The growing demand for cost‐efficient and flexible biomanufacturing has increased interest in process‐intensified downstream platforms. This study evaluates an intensified monoclonal antibody (mAb) purification sequence, where two unit operations traditionally performed in batch mode—Protein A capture and low pH virus inactivation (VI)—are ...

Isolation and Purification of Heterotetrameric Catalase from a Desiccation Tolerant Cyanobacterium Lyngbya arboricola [PDF]
The desiccation tolerant cyanobacterium Lyngbya arboricola, isolated from bark surfaces of Mangifera indica, possessed up to four stable isoforms of catalase in addition to other antioxidative enzymes, for several years under a dry state. Purification of
